I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this place.
I recently came back to Seattle for the first time in a little over 10 years to see if I wanted to move back. Putting aside this review for a second, I can honestly say the best of Seattle has gotten better and the worst of Seattle has gotten worse. Focusing again on this review, Caffé D'arte is it nice example of some of Seattle's best.
The baristas are pleasant. They're also professional, and the espresso drinks they make are fantastic. They're also perceptive enough to know when you want to just be left alone, or happy to chat with you if you have questions about the area or just need to get a quick thought out in the open. The atmosphere at the cafe is bright and calm, and the cafe itself is very clean.
My favorite Cafe used to be just down the streets, or rather across the way from Pioneer square, but after finding this Cafe I've decided that this might be my favorite. You truly can't beat the quality of service and espressos here.
Might I add, the location is second to none. They managed to retain enough of the original building to keep it historically interesting, while upgrading enough to keep it comfortable. It's across the way from the mutual Life building, built some time in the late 1800s to early 1900s, which currently houses the magic mouse toy store, and it's also across the way from Pioneer square. There's always plenty of people watching, and the view is always beautiful regardless of it's the brightest of days or the darkest and rainiest of days.
And in case this matters to you, because it matters to me, the Wi-Fi is fast.
If you drink here, don't forget to tip well. The barristas have...
Read moreI despise writing bad reviews, but I wanted to leave a review on this place. Let me start by saying that I did enjoy the large windows. Its nice for staying entertained if you are alone and the design is pleasant. Initially when I walked in there were two flies that were in my face. Since it is a cafe that sells food, I tried not to criticize too hard; However, there was also an odor that reminded me of a cat litter box because it was very pungent (my personal reference) so that worried me. The food was a bit pricy, which wouldn't have been a problem, but the portion size was small. Now for $4-$6 you can get a pretty decent sized baguette from Starbucks or a muffin for a bit cheaper. Here I paid $10 for a egg sandwich that was the size of a McDonald's McMuffin. I even held it against my iPhone 14 for reference and it was small. When I went there weren't really many food options, but there is a lot of coffee to choose from. This is my personal experience, and it is possible maybe I caught the business on a bad morning, but the lady was relatively friendly at the counter from the little interaction we did have. Sadly this cafe just was not a fit for me, but I wish them...
Read moreWith my family, headed in for coffee before the Mariners game, Saturday Aug 18th. Excellent coffee....but...when I let the staff know the rest room was out of paper towels, the young woman behind the counter, who was eating, stared at me and said, " Take it easy. I'll get to it." As I left, she and the other woman laughed and giggled. Won't return.
Thank you Caffe D'arte for thoroughly addressing my concerns. Your responses were immediate and I appreciated your genuine communication with me. After our dialogue, I would be happy to return to Caffe D'arte with the sincere expectation that my experience would be very different. It sounds like my experience was NOT the normal, friendly courteous visit! My thanks again for listening and responding to...
