I am saddened to leave this review as I typically don’t review restaurants but I’m pissed at being ripped off by a place I used to love. I’ve been coming to cornuto for a few years and taken many friends as it’s a great neighborhood joint. The pizza is delicious but I’ve noticed a significant change in portion as well as inconsistent quality. I picked up my order and immediately noticed how light it felt, not the expected weight of two pizzas. Now it’s truly laughable what they are charging for what you get. You used to get a pizza that covered a plate or filled their pizza box. Today I spent $58 on two vegetarian pizzas- a Margherita and the verde with a generous tip. See the child sized personal pizza with barely any mozzarella that was cut into 4 slices- not even close to the pizzas advertised in the photos on their website that cover the plate and are sliced into 6. You can’t tell me that pizza is worth almost $30 with tax and tip to go ($20 on the menu) and basically no mozzarella. For reference my ring size is 4 so my small hand covering the majority of the pizza is pretty pathetic. Truly a disappointment as it was a treat to come here but after waiting 1 hour and 10 minutes to pay almost $60 for something that will barely feed my partner and I, I won’t be eager to return. Please consider returning to the typical standard size pizza that you previously made and have advertised on your website. I understand inflation is hurting us all but Flour and tomatoes are not that expensive. I wish I could get a refund for the time I spent waiting for the kid sized portion and the amount I spent for mediocre pizza that does not uphold the Neapolitan standard (see the inconsistent crust, shape, dry flat bread with lack of sauce and cheese etc). A true tragedy that this place is not at all what...
Read moreI came here based on a search of Google Maps. I happened to be in Northgate around 9:30 pm and wanted to get some dinner. I'm not very familiar with the area, with the exception of the few places I had been many times and I wanted to try some place new. As I stated to search, pizza came to the fore and that sounded good. I love a good Neapolitan Pizza, so focused on pursuing that end. Cornuto Pizzaria had two things going for it. First it received many good reviews on Google Maps. Second they were open until 11:00 pm so it meant I would not be rushed. I drive to Greenwood, a mere 10 or 12 min. It's on Greenwood Ave N, along that really quaint yet hip commercial district where the 74th St Ale House, Two Birds Tattoo, and Proust! are located, just north of Phinney Ridge. The woman who greeted me was very pleasant (and a very pregnant) and allowed me to sit in the window by the best when I asked. She was very attentive, despite the place being a little busy, and brought for me a small Cesar salad with anchovies, before the pizza I ordered was served. I ordered the Diavola pizza which was easily larger enough for two, but because it was so delicious, I ate 3/4 of it while sitting there. It was the best pizza I've had for a very long time. I only just realized while writing this review, that this place is a part of the Via Tribunali group of restaurants. I've been a fan of theirs for a while (bring back the late night happy hour to your Pike Street/Cap Hill location!). But the pizza here was even better than I've had at there other restaurants before. 5 stars! I will definitely be going back to Greenwood just for...
Read moreTLDR: Save your time and money and go to Lupo/Delancey. Maybe we caught them on a bad day, I don’t know. There was a wait near the entrance to write our name down on a register. We stood there in the line with no one coming up near the register to call out names when we could see vacant tables. This went on for 20-25 minutes. At this point we weren’t sure whether that register even meant anything. Then someone came up and asked us to write the name on the register. Then it was another 10-15minutes wait to get the table. Then we waited again for 15 mins before the bartender came to our table to help order. We got a caesar salad and a cipollino pizza. Finally, we got the salad. It was the most underwhelming salad I have ever eaten. It screamed zero effort. No dressing, no seasoning at all. Then we waited another 15 mins for the pizza which had patches with no cheese on it. The pizza wasn’t even cut. We were given scissors to cut it ourselves lol. There was little to no meat on the pizza and we felt like eating dough. All this while, the bartender was the one tending to our table. We were left highly disappointed and obviously never...
