Before going to Prost, ask yourself two questions.
Do you like drinking beer? Specifically German beer? Do you like being rewarded for drinking beer?
If you answered yes to those, Prost is your spot. They import fantastic beers from Germany and provide a unique opportunity to experience them served on draught. Whether you like a good bräuweisse, lager, schwarzbier, dunkelweisse, or maybe just being able to drink beer by the liter, Prost has it. Their menu also typically features rotating seasonal selections, which provides a nice way to experience a novelty that you may not have chosen to explore.
Prost makes you feel like you're part of a larger community. Their rewards system is a punch card. Each punch represents a half liter of beer that you drank. After 50 punches, you get a prize, starting with Prost Marks (a form of currency the restaurant uses that you can use to pay for your drinks up to fancy Lederhosen or a watch after you fill out enough punch cards! One of the rewards is your name (or whatever you'd like to be immortalized as) on a plaque that's hung up in the restaurant. This item adorns almost every available space and is a constant reminder that Prost has built a large network of loyal regulars and familiar faces who keep coming back.
And it's no wonder people are loyal. The staff makes an effort to get to know their patrons on a first name basis, also taking interest in their hobbies and lives. This small familiarity goes a long way in building loyalty and is one reason I keep returning. When I go to Prost, my presence doesn't just feel accepted. It feels appreciated. I encourage you, if you're reading this, give Prost a try. Stop in, get a beer, chat with the patrons and staff, and simply enjoy yourself. And don't forget...
Read moreI just can’t believe these 5 star reviews? I just had a terrible experience here and can’t quite wrap my head around it. The staff must have been having a bad night, but it was like our server was avoiding us all night. The first pretzel was fine and the beer is great. Credit where credit is due for the heavy pours. But all downhill from there. The Seattle Bratwurst Sandwich was sad. It had all of my favorite ingredients in it but I could taste the sadness/hate of whoever made it. It just wasn’t good and was pretty small of what the menu described as a “meal”. Weirdly I was still hungry after an app and “meal” so I ordered the only dessert option - a desert pretzel. It was SO hard, like our group of three gave up trying to cut it. It also tasted like sadness covered with whipped cream…
I’m just so confused because my group came here specifically for all the stellar reviews and we left all commenting on how dissatisfied we were with the food and service. If you like good German beer and nothing else then come here.
I’ve been to Germany and their notoriously cool customer service was better than what we...
Read moreThis is a small German beer pub located in the heart of Phinney Ridge. It's narrow, with enough room for a few tables along one wall and the bar with stools opposite. It has a very good selection of beers from Deutschland ranging from the lighter pilsner and lagers to Köstritzer dark beer. There are also radlers on tap an in bottles plus apfelwein during the summer. A small food menu is also available focusing on sandwiches and sausages/wurst plus pretzels. The decor inside is German themed with flags and photos of Germany plus wooden furniture to have it resemble a beer hall. Some covered outdoor seating is available in front. If you're looking for a place specializing in German beer this...
