Greenwood Branch - The Seattle Public Library — Attraction in Seattle

This smaller neighborhood library is loud. The low ceiling and open layout allows sound to travel really well. Not my first choice if you need a peaceful corner to study. All the tables or sitting areas is just one huge area in the middle of the library adjacent to the desk. Easy to hear everything the staff say. Good library overall, well organized and cleanliness maintained inside. Staff is friendly and available to help searching for any material to read there/borrow. There are few different seating sections and all are laid out spacious.

Good library, but it's noisier than a book store! The librarians are very chatty and talk loudly. For example, with potential library members or assisting existing ones, they talk loud enough for you to get distracted while reading.

There are also a lot of kids running around all the time. I fail to understand why they don't enforce a policy of silence...
