I purchased a $75 wristband for a music festival in Pioneer Square last night. It included entry into all the local venues with live music including Elysian Fields. I am a 40-something yr old professional female out with 3 other 40-something females (as opposed to drunken-20-somethings out raving) enjoying an evening of live music. I was conservatively dressed and enjoyed 2 glasses of wine with a full dinner earlier and a cocktail at Trinity just before walking to Elysian Fields. When we approach the entry to Elysian, the 20-something door-guy employee singles me out to ask how much I've had to drink. I tell him 3 drinks and he refuses to allow me entry. My 3 friends walk right in and we are briefly separated. I was stunned, insulted, humiliated, and royally pissed after spending so much $$ for the festival wristband. We couldn't figure out for the life of us why he singled me out? Let's see, we were all laughing and enjoying our evening and each other's company. Needless to say, I will never again patronize this establishment. I have spent many fun nights at the sister-establishment on Capital Hill. I will however, make one final trip there to file a complaint to the manager in...

This place has a huge bar and dining area, and is good for a quick drink at the bar before or after a game down the street - that's probably about it though.

First off, the place was nearly empty but the host wouldn't seat us because we only had 3 out of 9 people in attendance. They suggested we wait at the bar. I find that a bit ridiculous of a policy, especially since everyone was 10 minutes out and the place was empty. To make matters worse, we wanted to wait outside as it was a nice day on the patio, but we weren't allowed to do that either because the host knew we would be moving when our party arrived - and therefore we could sit at the bar ONLY while we waited. Again, the patio had plenty of room!!

Secondly, the service is sub par. Server is very nice but it's obvious they cannot keep up for a medium/large party like this. Nobody would allow us to add another table, so we were packed into a 6 person table.

Finally, a majority of the food is not so good. The eggplant sandwhich was really bad - the appetizers were doable but it would come with not enough chips/bread often, leaving lots of food left in the plate.

2/5 would...

I am absolutely disgusted by this place and the attitude we received this evening. We walked in and were told to find our own table...so we sat ourself. We then were very rudely refused service. One waiter came by while we were laughing about a joke amongst the four of us and quickly walked off, we waited about 15 minutes without anyone else coming by the table....in an otherwise very very empty establishment. One member of our party walked up to a waiter requesting service and was told someone would be by the table shortly...another 15 minutes later a different woman came by the table in which she promptly told us we needed to leave and we would not be served, when asked why she responded with "your party needs to leave" without any other explanation. I am so beyond disgusted. In a city that has a high population of amazing local and regional breweries I will honestly say I will gladly take my business elsewhere...and recommend others to do the same. As a visitor to this city I am disgusted. Sorry but your product is not that great that you should be able to get away with refusing service to...

As an expert foodie and restaurant critic, I will tell you this poor experience is at the top of my list. I was headed to a concert at WAMU theater in Seattle and being a newcomer to the area, I thought it would be nice to try a new place to eat. I parked across from Elysian Fields so it was an easy choice. After seating myself, I was waited on by a server who was rushed and not that friendly, but I brushed it off in hopes of maybe enjoying some good food. I asked how the wings were and the response was “if you’ve had wings, that’s pretty much how they are.” 🤦🏽‍♀️😡?! I ordered the wings and 1/2 Caesar salad. Wings took a while, salad never came. Service wasn’t great. Server was right - wings were “just wings” not great. Finally, got my salad AFTER the bill (didn’t get charged for it). It had little to no Caesar dressing. I asked for boxes. Had to wait AGAIN. Asked again for boxes and finally got one - no big boxes so the server bought out another. I packed my food and was so disappointed I snapped this photo before rushing out of there. Thirty dollars wasted.

Elysian used to be a place I would go to before sporting events at the stadiums, usually a couple times a year. Last Saturday (9/27), I came down for lunch before the Mariners game. I brought people who had never been here before touting how good it was. Unfortunately we were left very disappointed. The menu has changed. My salad, which used to come in a nice bowl, came in the small wax-covered boat. The $13 salad (pictured) was smaller than a normal house salad. They used to have grilled chicken, replaced by these small fried chicken strips that were $6! $19 just for that? The service was ok, only checked in to give us the check when we were done eating. No refills offered or ask if we wanted additional drinks. Change in menu, change in place settings (plastic cups, paper food boats for all food, including hot macaroni and cheese) Not sure what’s happened to this place. Time to find a new pregame tradition.

This is the second Elysian Brewery location we’ve visited, and it definitely met our expectations in both beer quality and food. The place has a huge seating area, making it perfect for large groups, parties, or casual get-togethers. We ordered the nachos (without meat) — they tasted great, though the portion size felt a bit smaller than expected. Chicken wings were good and went well with our beers. The beers were fantastic as always! The only thing we wished for was that they offered pitchers, which would’ve been perfect for sharing.
