I was on a hunt for an engagement ring and diamond so, of course, my first instinct was to shop at all the big name stores you’d see and hear advertising on commercials. However, I repetitively came across the same two major problems: the quality of their diamonds and customer service fell short of my expectations. I decided to try my luck with my local mom and pop shop, LT Denny, and I was blown away by their ring selections, diamond quality, expertise, and customer interaction. Leslie and Reed were extremely patient, took their time in educating and helping me find the right diamond. I wasn’t able to find my diamond the first trip there, but Leslie and Reed were both extremely determined to help find the one for me. Every time a new shipment came, they contacted me and advised me to come back to examine them. They conducted multiple eye tests, where they made me guess the Clarity and Color of different batches of diamonds in fluorescent lighting (inside the store) as well as natural lighting (outside the store) to see if I could spot any differences. They asked me, “Why pay for more if you can’t even see a drop off between the two?” That’s when I knew they were genuine, rather than trying to make a buck, they were looking out more for my budget and satisfaction. The owner and the gentleman who I initially worked with when I first dropped of my wedding band and engagement ring for a cleaning and repair were very nice! It was clear that they were experts in their field and I loved meeting the owners 2 cute dogs. I admit that I had not cleaned my wedding band in the 2 years that I have had it due to moving across the country, planning a wedding and buying a house. So when I got my ring back almost a month ago, I thought it was a completely different ring. They clearly did an excellent job cleaning it.

The owner did explain that my reaction was a common one. Especially if the customer had not gotten their jewelry professionally cleaned before. And while I do understand that, what I did not appreciate was the other female representative essentially telling me that if I wanted my ring to look like it did when I first brought it in, that I should wash my hands in oil/dirt with the ring on. I thought her comment was rude and unnecessary.

I did apologize profusely to the owner for the misunderstanding. I genuinely thought my ring looked different and will definitely be more diligent about getting it cleaned. However, I did not care for the other female representative and think she should have handled the situation better. I would still recommend this jewelry store. Fourteen years ago I got engaged. My then fiance gave me a lovely center stone and allowed me to pick out my setting (a very smart man.) After looking at all the usual, well known jewelry stores and finding nothing original or interesting, I remembered that my friend, who had gotten married the previous year, had gone to LT Denny. She had very specific qualities that she wanted in her ring, and Leslie worked with her to embellish and tailer the ring to her taste. Among the beautiful selection of primarily Tacori rings I surprised myself by finding something completely opposite of what I thought I wanted. I found something that combined modern and classic that matched my taste and was completely original. To this day I have never seen anyone with something similar. The setting I found was perfect to me without embellishment or modification.

Since making that purchase all those years ago I have much appreciated the service that Leslie and her staff have provided over the years. They graciously check, make any necessary repairs and clean it for me. Tacori guaranties their craftsmanship, so repairs have been complementary. I just picked up my ring today and it looks like brand new after being serviced.
