If you’re looking for a truly unique and magical experience in a cozy café atmosphere, I highly recommend checking out Friday Afternoon. I recently had the pleasure of attending a tasseomancy (tea leaf reading) class there, and it was a delightful and memorable experience.
The café itself is a warm, inviting space filled with the comforting aroma of high-quality teas. The staff are incredibly welcoming and knowledgeable, making you feel right at home. They offer a wide selection of teas, each with its own distinct flavor and character. For the tasseomancy class, we used a lovely tea that I affectionately called “the non-chaos kind,” which added to the lightheartedness of the experience!
The class was thoughtfully structured and interactive, giving us a chance to learn the basics of reading tea leaves while enjoying the calming practice of brewing and sipping our tea. Each of us got to practice interpreting the leaves in our cups and on small plates, guided by a provided worksheet that helped visualize where patterns appeared—whether immediate, near future, or distant.
What I really appreciated was how relaxed and fun the experience felt. Even as someone new to tasseomancy, I found it approachable and engaging. The whole session was infused with humor, insight, and a sense of curiosity. Plus, it was a unique way to connect with the symbolism and stories hidden in the patterns of the tea leaves.
Overall, Friday Afternoon offers not just delicious tea, but a creative and welcoming space for anyone interested in exploring something a little mystical. Whether you’re a tea enthusiast or just looking for a new experience, I highly recommend giving their tasseomancy...
Read moreI love the atmosphere of this place and that I can sit and have warm tea and a conversation or buy some tea to take home. I’ve had no issues with any of the women who work here always a smile or a welcome or hello and love giving tea suggestions and helping choose what I would like based on the tastes I enjoy. The man who works here has never once given me a warm welcome or ever felt like I could ask questions without basically being talked to like I’m stupid. Sorry I don’t work there and know what every damn tea tastes like. If you don’t want to help customers pick a tea or explain a tea then don’t work at a shop that sells tea. The fact that a brought a friend for the first time to this place I enjoy and acknowledged it was my friends first time and then you continue to have the worst attitude ever just like every other time I’ve interacted with you. If someone ask for a suggestion or help you don’t respond shitty and make them feel like that’s a dumb question to ask. I’ve literally listened to this man tell a girl who walked in saying she was trying to find a fun tea for a friend as a gift and wanted some help and he responds with we sell tea bags over there on the shelf. No input on a favorite tea or a tea a lot of regulars come and get. Anytime I’ve interacted with this worker it’s always ruined my mood and makes me not want to ask any questions at all based on there response. This really sucks because I really love supporting a local business I just wish I could ask questions and not get a shit short response fueled by anger and attitude because I’m curious about the tea the one thing you sell. Makes no...
