Nestled in the vibrant heart of the city lies Georgetown Liquor Co., a sanctuary where the raw energy of punk rock converges with the subtle sophistication of a fully vegan menu. This establishment is a fascinating microcosm, where the unorthodox and the conscientious coalesce, creating an environment as unique as it is inviting.

Upon entering, one is immediately struck by the atmosphere. The walls, adorned with eclectic artwork and memorabilia, resonate with the rebellious spirit of punk rock. The air thrums with the pulse of music, an electrifying backdrop to the convivial hum of conversation. It is a place that exudes character and charm, where the unconventional is celebrated and the ordinary is eschewed.

The menu, entirely vegan, is a testament to the creativity and innovation of the culinary team. Each dish is a revelation, bursting with flavors that challenge and delight the palate. From hearty, plant-based burgers to inventive small plates, every offering is crafted with care and precision, showcasing the endless possibilities of vegan cuisine.

The cocktail menu is equally impressive, a testament to the bar’s commitment to excellence. Here, mixologists craft beverages that are both bold and nuanced, blending premium spirits with fresh, locally sourced ingredients. The cocktails are a symphony of flavors, each sip a harmonious blend of taste and texture. For those who prefer non-alcoholic options, the bar offers an array of meticulously crafted mocktails, ensuring that every guest can partake in the experience.

Among the many offerings, the signature cocktails stand out as exemplars of the bar’s ingenuity. The 'Rebel’s Delight,' a vibrant concoction of gin, elderflower, and fresh citrus, is a refreshing ode to the unconventional. The 'Anarchy Sour,' with its perfect balance of whiskey, lemon, and aquafaba, offers a tantalizing twist on a classic favorite.

The non-alcoholic selections, such as the 'Punk Punch,' a lively mix of tropical juices and herbal infusions, and the 'Vegan Mule,' with its crisp blend of ginger beer and lime, ensure that every patron can find a drink to suit their preferences.

In the urban jungle of nightlife, Georgetown Liquor Co. stands out as a beacon of individuality and inclusivity. It is a place where the spirit of punk rock thrives, where the vegan ethos is embraced, and where every cocktail tells a story. It is a sanctuary for those who seek the extraordinary, a place where the boundaries of tradition are joyfully dismantled and where the future of dining and drinking is...

Update for 2024: I've been here several more times recently and had pretty good experiences. It's definitely a dive bar, but has good vegetarian options and the food is tasty. There is a full bar, and the drinks are just okay most of the time, unless you order from the cocktail menu. They do have some CBD seltzers which I appreciate if I don't want alcohol. The service is always friendly, chill atmosphere.

Had brunch here on the weekend. The place was empty which seemed nice but should have been telling. I and others in my party ordered the brunch burrito, and added chilli verde. But this chilli verde was ridiculously spicy. I mean after 3 bites, our mouths were on fire and we couldn't taste the burritos anymore. And we weren't a crowd of mild eaters (I at least order Thai food with 3 stars every time and love hot sauce). Seeing as how it wasn't mentioned on the menu and we weren't warned, the waitress should have offered us something else when we complained at how spicy the verde was. But instead, she cluelessly brought another plate for us to scrape the sauce onto to get it off our burritos. She only brought one plate when my friend repeatedly asked for a second. She also still charged us for the sauce we couldn't eat. Duh. Apparently that batch of jalapeño was really hot, she relayed from the kitchen, but that's not an excuse. You're supposed to taste test and warn people. Ruined brunch. For a vegan place, it wasn't very good and this just sealed my resolve to never go there or...

As a new vegan, places like this make my transition really easy. I went in for lunch on a Friday and found the spot relatively slow (for some reason). I had the meatball sub (special for the month of January) with potato salad and my girlfriend had the French dip with a side Cesar salad. Let me tell you, the French dip was absolutely incredible. Had a perfect spicy after taste from the grilled peppers and onions and the dip was hot and full of flavor but the absolute star of the show was that meatball sub. It was a last minute change after the asking the bartender if I should have that, or the Bleu cheese burger with bacon and let me tell you I am SO glad I changed my mind at their recommendation. The sub came out hot, sliced in half with hand made meatballs that were absolutely PACKED with flavor and the perfect texture, covered in a light (right) amount of tomato sauce and grated parmesan cheese. I paired it with a draft beer and finished it off with a double Blanton's (priced surprisingly well) and I was ABSOLUTELY smitten with my choice. If you haven't been to this place, you HAVE to try it. Support local vegan eateries ESPECIALLY this place. It's amazing to have that sandwich come out of that small kitchen space but let me tell you, vegan or not - this place is worth checking out. I absolutely...
