FOOD: 4 Stars SERVICE: 3 Stars ATMOSPHERE: 3 Stars
We were really excited to celebrate my 34th birthday here this week. I’d heard so many good things about this place online. I’d heard the atmosphere was a bit rustic but when we arrived the inside was very cold and poorly lit. I wish they’d done a bit more to make it feel a little cozier and intimate or turn the heaters on higher since the door kept being left open and made it frigid in there when guests didn’t close the door and staff weren’t around to make sure it stayed shut. Service was both good and bad. Our primary server was a little awkward and asked us a two times if we had been there before (we hadn’t and I’m positive I didn’t mumble since both times she said welcome for your first time with us) and it felt like she was just repeating a script, she didn’t ask if we were celebrating anything or make small talk, and didn’t seem to be aware of my groups dietary restrictions until we arrived despite listing that on the reservation. I think opening with some history of the Corson Building could have been fun, or talked more about the wine pairings and some details about those vineyards? The other staff that helped out dropping things off were very nice and friendly. We’ve eaten at other fine dining/tasting menu places and always appreciated those little attention to detail things.
The food was mostly very good. The salad, scallops, short rib, and desert were fantastic. The wine pairing for the desert was particularly yummy!
The first course of black cod on crostini was ‘okay’ it felt a bit challenging/messy to eat and the crostini was super hard. The Riced Celeriac was not good at all. It felt like something was missing from the dish that might have elevated it a bit. Maybe some kind of fish or other protein would make it feel a bit heartier. There was way too much of the same thing. It was the only course we left mostly uneaten.
I really wanted to love this place and felt like the service brought my score down considerably. If we go back I’ll probably want to do it in the summer and ask to sit outside with the greenery. Maybe winter isn’t the best time to experience the...
Read moreIt’s difficult to express how happy we are that we chose to get married at The Corson Building! If you are searching for a wedding venue in Seattle that will provide a timeless, intimate, lush garden setting and also want to spoil your guests with an incredible meal, we can’t recommend The Corson Building enough!
Having our wedding here was the best decision we made as it streamlined the many tedious items that couples typically have to coordinate across multiple vendors. The event coordinator, Angela, made the planning process a breeze. She was prompt, flexible, and went above and beyond to ensure the day would run smoothly. And it’s not just Angela - the entire Corson crew is so kind, thoughtful, and professional! We were able to be fully present on our wedding day and just enjoy the time with our family and friends, knowing that all of the small details and logistics would be taken care of.
And the food - where to begin? It’s been three months since our wedding day, and we still have many guests reminiscing about how wonderful the meal was! We had eaten at The Corson Building before and knew that it would be good, but wow…we were blown away! Just sit back and let Chef Emily do her thing, and you won’t regret it! Each dish was beautiful, and we loved how the menu honored seasonal ingredients in the PNW. And, our many vegan and vegetarian friends were also well taken care of throughout the entire evening. We truly wish we could relive our wedding day just for the food alone!
Thank you, thank you, thank you to The Corson Building for making our day better than we could have dreamed!

Read moreIf you're planning a wedding and your dream wedding includes spoiling your family and friends with a memorable dinner experience by a top notch restaurant that curates a menu based on the season, you host your event at the Corson Building. I honestly can't fully put into words that do it justice. Angela, the event coordinator at Corson was truly such a dream to work with. She was kind, she was patient, she was insanely professional. I can't speak more highly of her. The chef, the meal, and every single staff person who was working our event was incredible. They made us feel like rockstars and we never felt an ounce of worry or stress on our wedding day during our event. Would we do it all over again? YES! Please let me live this day all over again because the amount of gratitude and joy we were able to put into our guests was because The Corson Building gave us the experience and ability to focus on that because they were so on point from start to finish. We did a standing/guests with drinks in hand ceremony and it was PERFECT!
The food review: everything was perfect. We are now two months out from our wedding date and our guests still randomly text us to say how amazing the food was. I was having a bit of anxiety about our guests allergies and dietary restrictions but everyone was taken care of and far beyond!
Thank you Thank you Thank you, to everyone at The Corson Building for making our day so incredibly special for us and our closest core. Moral of the review, get married here or always wonder.
