Settle’s Georgetown is teeming with eclectic specialty shops and creative eateries. Brother Joe’s has had a bit of a makeover and the new look resonates with me. I love to have a date with myself and a cozy spot in a café with lots going on in the surroundings is always a treat. Brother Joe’s is such a space. I guess it’s reputation is that of a coffeehouse, but it delivers more than a good cup of Joe! It offers an artisan specialty market with items perfect for gifts for those in the cocktails and cigar set. If you are a coffee drinker their selection of espressos and lattes is impressive. Food offerings lean more toward soup and sandwiches, but the ones I’ve had are equally as impressive. Some of the prices can be a little jarring, but well worth it. Brother Joe doesn’t skimp on anything. Bread and ingredients are top quality and a bite is more than a mouthful. Seating is limited, and be prepared to wait a few minutes if you order carry out. They prepare to order. It’s difficult to find parking in the area but it’s worth a spin around the block to look for one if you want to treat yourself to a good bite to eat. Make it a destination must do.

Loved this Coffee House. With it's menu and spaciousness, it wouldn't be false advertising to call it a restaurant. I think it's referred to as a coffee house because it's clear they have a passion for coffee. My wife is an avid coffee drinker, and had to bring home some roasts because she liked it so much. I had the best Chai Tea Latte imaginable, and we were blown away by how good the food was, as we're used to coffee houses that sell food just good enough to eat. This is a place where we'd come back for just the food. I recommend the impossible patty melt sandwich. It tastes like a grilled beef patty with cheese, but it's a veggie patty with cashew based cheese, not dairy. Their fluffy cakes were delicious with fruit and homemade whipped cream, and they served the softest scrambled eggs I've ever had. It's got a great vibe, a friendly staff, and great decor with character. I already know I'll be a repeat customer.

Brother Joe has quickly become a favorite of mine. I felt so comfortable just walking through the door into their space. It's full of decorative flair, trinkets, plants, and specialty market items. The barista was down to earth too. After looking at some of the older pictures online it seems like a lot of redecorating was done to transform seating areas into a eclectic specialty market. I was of the mind to compare different flavors so I ordered a bit more than usual: an 8oz Holy Mole Mocha (spiced with Mexican chocolate, chilies, and orange zest), a 12oz You Know Chata? (cold brew, rice, vanilla, and cinnamon), Egg and Cheese Croissant, and the Field Roast Sandwich. They were all delicious-- especially the Egg and Cheese Croissant. I could definitely pick out the flavor profiles of the drinks, and I will definitely be back to try the rest of the menu.

Looks can be deceiving .... trust me I was deceived. I've ordered from Brother Joe before and I will say that the drinks have been phenomenal. I usually get the Miso Honey or You Know Chata. I've also tried their fried chicken sandwich which was mid, but at least I was able to finish it. But ... the salmon bagel??? My god. I don't know how anyone could mess up a salmon and cream cheese bagel this badly, but this is it. The worst salmon and cream cheese bagel i've ever had.

The salmon was piled so high, even climbers of Mt. Everest wouldn't be able to reach it. The kraut? Random and unnecessary lol, doesn't really do anything except a small crunch. No seasoning ... /:

Now let's get to the sprouts ... there was so much on the sandwich that it resembles the hair of a Bob Ross chia pet. I tried so hard to finish it, but it was so strong I ended up converting all the salmon and kraut to one bagel slice, and even then I ended up tossing it out because of how mid it was. No lemon. No pepper. The cream cheese was spread so thin I forgot it was there. I'm not even a picky eater, I truly could eat anything ......
