One of my favorite spots to grab a bite at lunchtime in Seattle’s Georgetown is BopBox. Here they really know how to coax flavor out of vegetables and proteins. My go to is the Bento Box with spicy pork. But I’ve also had Mom’s Medley with grilled chicken (hold the egg) and love that one as well. The medley of vegetables is served over a generous portion of mixed grains containing expertly cooked rice. In a dish that can be bland in some hands, everything contained in the dish(es) explodes with flavor. If you wish to amp those flavors there are several different sauces to choose from. For the Bento Box I choose a jalapeño soy which I use as a dipping sauce for the spring roll and tempura kale. I chose the miso-tahini sauce to drizzle over Mom’s Medley. To round out my meal(s) I always get a side of their sweet/spicy, crunchy pickled cucumbers which are not to be missed. Seating is limited, but the meals travel well as carry out. Give this place a try the next time you are in the...

This used to be the BEST bibimbap around, but it is sadly no longer the same. I’ve decided to stop coming back here expecting the flavor and experience that they used to provide, since the price is very high for what you get and the last handful of times, I have left disappointed.

My main complaints: 1- food is no longer served in a sizzly bowl so food gets cold very fast and you don’t get to “cook” all your rice and toppings together, leaving it with a generally soggy texture 2- they no longer offer unlimited sauces and wayyy overcharge you for extras. Then you get a small side cup that is half full for the +$1 that you paid for it. It’s not enough to add the flavor that I used to be able to by mixing and matching their sauces. 3- despite the decline in quality and experience, the prices have remained high and even increased. This would be fine and I would still come to get it as a “treat” if they still delivered on the full experience of bibimbap, however they no longer do, so it’s no...

I ordered the wild salmon with black rice, paid extra for double veggies, egg, and pickle of the day, total of $23. Got my food, drove to my office, opened the bag, the lid for pickled side wasn't closed and spilled all over. No big deal, I open up the food container, the only veggies in there was carrots and onions. I drive back thinking they gave me the wrong order and hand the bag back and explain what happened. The server tells me we only have seasonal vegetables. The menu calls out specific vegetable and says nothing about it being limited to seasonal vegetables. She apologized and asked if they can substitute the broccoli and mushrooms with kale and cabbage instead, I said OK and waited for another 15 minutes. When my order was ready, she handed it to me and I thanked her and drove back to my office. I open the box to eat and they've given me quinoa instead of my rice. I paid $23 for lunch I didn't get to eat, SMH, how...
