I really hate writing this review - partly because I was looking forward to a really good Greek lunch - and partly because I like to support small businesses. In fact, I started to give 2 stars rather than 1 star because it was food, it was edible and I did not suffer any negative consequences - but the more I thought about how I was ripped off, I could not stomach providing the least support.
I came during the afternoon Happy Hour - and got the hummus and falafel - WHAT A DOWNER FOR PORTIONS - a teeny, little plate of watery, bland hummus and pita bread - for $6?????? Give me a break!. I can get a huge very decent hummus plate - 4x the amount of hummus - at many bars for only a few dollars more. Then 3 small well over fried falafel and a little bit of modest tahini for $6 more dollars?????? OMG! What a filthy rip-off!! Just thinking about this now is - since I did not fully understand what was happening (was WAY past my lunch time and I was desparate and had low blood sugar) - is making my blood boil. Hmmmm...now thinking about it...and have my head together, I am changing my rating to 1 Star - these servings were just a massive slap in the face and a total rip-off.
Then the regular sized spanokopita for 9 dollars - so SEVERELY over-baked - and utterly tasteless - what a mess.
Had I had my head around me - I would have complained after about a third of the way through and simply walked out - but I was in a desperate need of food at that moment and could only think of eating. $28 for this complete disaster....
Yeah - really bad deal - I will obviously NEVER visit Georgia's restaurant - and do not recommend.
To be utterly fair - the baklava was not horrible as most restaurants are really poor (such as Zeka on LCW - just sugar, hard, no butter) - just mediocre - but would not buy again since I know what good baklava is.
I felt like the owner is tired of this business and simply does not want to...
Read moreSigh --- I used to travel across town to eat here - enjoyed it so much. Am veggie and the falafel was terrific. However, since we moved and now it's in our neighborhood - thot we were 'set'. It's been a disappointment. The falafel has become so dried out it actually scratches my mouth (weird). Also, last straw, we ordered out for my daughter's b'day --- VERY carefully explaining the need for 'no dairy'. Talked about it again at pick.up - but didn't check the boxes - just assuming it would be okay. Got home -- potatoes (which were for the children - who can't have the dairy) covered in melted cheese - none of us eat it - so there went that treat and $$.... one of the sauces seemed to be dairy based (though, when we called they said not - but I tried it and got quite ill from it...). Also - there was no hummus! Seriously - that's the main thing - besides the falafel that you could hurt someone with. We called back - my daughter was nearly in tears - and the response was "Well, can you come back?". Sigh - no offer of refund or coupons toward the future - just not going to receive our business anymore. We are saddened by this. This is nothing about the meat/cheese dishes - please note - we...
Read moreMy wife and I came here for lunch on a Friday a little after noon. It was fairly empty and we had our choice of places to sit. The place was clean and smelled wonderful, even the bathroom was clean and smelled decent.
We started with the Kalamata Olive dip, and my wife had a Greek coffee. I'm not a big olive fan but the Kalamata Olive dip was fantastic, Tangy and flavorful without being overpowering. It was my wife's first time having Greek coffee and she LOVED it.
For lunch My wife had the leg of lamb sandwich, with Greek, garlic fries. The portion was quite large and after the dip she could only eat about 4 bites and a couple fries and she was done so we took the leftovers home for another meal. I wanted to try something I'd never had before so I had the Souvlaki with lamb and also had the Greek garlic fries. The lamb was juicy and tender, the veggies crisp and while the tzatziki sauce was a little too plentiful and a bit overpowering, it was delicious.
This was our second restaurant we've been to that has been featured on Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives and we'll definitely be...
