The food tastes very good as expected. Very good to find the only legitimate Jamaican restaurant in this state that I know of so far. Customer service was perfect, friendly and respectful. I can see that they are a hard working family and it is not easy to run a business especially a food business, but I can tell they are legitimately kind people, real Jamaicans and the food is authentically Jamaican. I am Jamaican so I would know. There are I think 2 other restaurants I found that has Jamaican dishes but it's not authentic Jamaican food the way Jamaicans actually cook it. No person or restaurant is perfect. But my experience there and also the quality of the food I plan to visit there regularly. Also unless a Jamaican restaurant is actually in Jamaica itself where only Jamaican products are used to prepare dishes, it's a pretty good deal when any restaurant outside of Jamaica can make good tasting dishes. Especially in Seattle where I have not yet found any place to purchase any Jamaican products. For example seasoning sold in Jamaica is much more flavorful and organic than the products available in the US. Produce tastes different even when cooked . The oils, meats, everything tastes better in Jamaica. Therefore a Jamaican restaurant in a place like Seattle will probably have more difficulty than other restaurants (like those in Florida or New York where a large population of Jamaicans and Jamaican products are present) because they don't have good access to the kind of products that would give the best taste of Jamaican flavors. There is not a large population of Caribbean people in this state so little to no products from Jamaica and other Caribbean countries are sold here. And if any of the ingredients are imported from Jamaica remember there are laws that usually require adjusting how the products are sold so that takes away from the flavor. For example I think ackee can only be imported if it is shelled and put in cans with water. And even if you grow an ackee tree on US soil the taste is different because each countries soil is different. So I am very proud that they manage to pull it off and make very good tasting dishes. It's better than I...

I have patronize the Jamaican Kitchen twice. The first time I was mostly satisfied with the choices. I ordered 4 dinners ,2 oxtails, curry goat and a jerk chicken. The oxtails had good flavor but the portion was small. The curry goat the flavor was good but the serving was mostly bones. The jerk chicken was excellent and they gave a generous portion. The sides were not good at all the beans and rice were very bland and the didn't come with salad dressing. I went back 2nd time and ordered the jerk chicken dinners, two. I called my order in and was told it would be ready in 15 minutes I waited an additional 20 minutes because the first time I went I had to wait. When I got there this time I was the only one there.i gave my name and the person said that she didn't have my order. So I waited while she prepared my order. I made sure to asked for extra jerk sauce and salad dressing. When I ate my meals later my wife said my chicken is burnt mine was also burnt. Jamaican Kitchen had already closed for the evening so I called them the next day. I spoke with someone who when I told her my food was burnt , she said that happens sometimes. Not what I wanted to hear. I asked for the owner and was told she was out of town. She never asked me how she could remedy my concern. She was very rude and seemed to want to argue. I told her I would never ever patronize the Jamaican Kitchen again. I spent over a $130.00 with them and they didn't even try to make it right. Don't go here bad service and bad FOOD NEVER...

I’ve been this place a few times over the past year and it had been hit or miss. My most recent experience was completely pathetic. I walked in and saw all the food uncovered. The server was eating at the register and I had to ask the server a couple times what she had on the menu for the day and what the cost of the entree’s were. She said I can look on line if I needed to know the prices. She had no idea what the costs were. I then asked her about a promotion that was posted in a sign on the counter, but she exclaimed that ā€œoh, I forgot about this promotion and what the details are. I don’t much about itā€. In the middle of our conversation , another customer came up and asked to be helped. The server told me that she will need to help this new customer first then she will get back to me. I was so turned off by the presentation, lack of awareness, or customer service, I left without ordering. As a fellow Jamaican, I felt so embarrassed that this place says they are representing Jamaican food and culture. This is NOT it. Please get...
