Honestly? It's a McDonald's, so it's hit or miss. But the food is pretty good on a low budget, and most of the employees have been at least professional to me on my visits here. I even got one very nice lady to allow me and my gf to sit at the table a little after lobby hours were over because my gf had gotten sick while here, and she agreed we could wait until it was safer for my gf to drive us home. That was lovely, and made us feel very grateful to have met this kind employee.
So... why 3 stars? Another employee. It seemed she just had it out for us for whatever reason at first. Since it was just one rude person, and only happened a few times we'd wrote it off as an inconvenience at best. Well, we found out it wasn't just us she was bothering. We watch her around us now, and she was also following around around anyone who wasn't white, was visibly poor, or people who I couldn't find reason for her to be hassling. She wasn't doing regular work at these times, just doing the same series of tasks on repeat in areas that allowed her to watch people. Turns out she was finding all the small regulations she could use to force people she disliked to leave. Including hassling working folk, and families, who tried to use the restroom before they bought something by telling them to leave! If I just came off a hard job for lunch I'd like to wash my hands and such before eating. And goodness knows young kids, or the elderly, can't wait to make an order before going to pee. The topper? All the people she bothered were clearly the same types of people she had been following around. I know I actually had her saying some very insulting things to me personally as well, which means I might not be alone in that.
Now... I'm not vindictive. But this behavior isn't okay. Not for anywhere. It was one thing if she just didn't like me but... Well, you get it. This employee is clearly a very old woman. As I am aware of the money issues elderly folk have due to rising costs of health care at that age bracket, I don't want her fired. That would be cruel. However, I cannot find any reason she should be in a position to directly interact with customers due to her clear personal issues with the customer base itself. I would greatly appreciate if she could be moved to a position that didn't involve her interacting with the customers.
My favorite thing about McDonald's has always been the casual atmosphere here. It's got people from every walk of life who eat here, and work here. That generally makes it feel welcoming, and, with the right staff, even comforting. It's the best place to stop with family and friends on road trips. To get pick-me-up food if you are sick, depressed, or just hung-over. Having anyone treating people like this one employee has ruins everything I enjoy about this fast food giant. And, if I'm being perfectly honest, I find it shameful enough behavior to simply consider taking myself and anyone who matters to the five guys, or subway, or any of the many other better choices within actual walking distance of this location. As someone who always enjoyed my neighborhood McDonald's, I'm very...
Read moreUpdate: service gets worse. Ordered thru the app, sent two of my guys to pick it up for me. QPC deluxe with bacon, med fry, med drink, plus one large extra drink. Cashier recognized the order & my name.
When the guys returned with my order, they handed me a small blue frozen drink of some sort and two chicken sandwiches.
Now I had to go to the store myself.
Interesting side note: there doesn't appear to be a way to access your past orders on the app. Whe ever I select "Previous & Favorites" it wants me to start a new order. This will be important in a minute.
So I get back in line. Cashier tells me to go straight thru to the pick up window. Give the clerk there my order number and the blue drink chicken whatevers; he tells me the order is no longer in his system and he can't help me. I must, according to him, use the app to pull up the order.
See above.
So this goes on for awhile. Finally a manager showed up & asks me to pull up the email confirmation. Based on that, she has the order prepared, and when I ask for some kind of compensation, offers me a free fruit pie for my trouble.
Finally get the order. Check the food, everything is finally right. Drive away, only to realize once I leave the parking lot, there are no napkins and no straws.
This is next level incompetence. World class. Olympic, even. I mean, you really gotta TRY to screw things up this bad. Try hard. I'm sure it takes practice...or maybe it is just raw, natural talent; who knows?
Previously, on "How Not To Run A McDonalds"... Got 4 sandwiches, two of them wrong: A Big Mac with only one patty; a Quarter Pounder with cheese & bacon, undercooked patty and without...
Read moreHORRIBLE LOCATION. It's right next to a very busy freeway entrance, causes terrible traffic, and is always jam packed. I've gone several times and felt frustrated every time. It's also so busy that quality seems to suffer, but today, I feel like I just got plain ripped off and I think they messed with my food!!
I ordered a medium double quarter pounder meal, no pickles, and the employee at the second window handed me my bag without looking in my direction. I received a burger with overdone patties, small bag of undercooked, undersalted fries and what I THOUGHT was a medium Dr Pepper. I was unhappy with the quality, but not to the point of complaining, and then I noticed that the Dr Pepper ran out very quickly. I looked inside, and I had actually been given a SMALL IN A MEDIUM CUP!!! There was a smaller cup inside the bigger cup! And only the small cup had been filled! Not a mistake that someone could possibly accidentally make.
I went back inside and demanded refund. Store manager had one of the employees make me a new drink, which I left with but decided not to drink, because they made it where I couldn't see and they already messed with my food once, soooo... I wish the manager had just refunded my money, on the drink at least.
I have no idea why they would mess with my food. I was polite and friendly, like always. Did they think my order was too complicated for rush hour because I said no pickles? Are one or more of the employees just messing with peoples' food just because?
AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL experience. I'll never return to...
