Their recent free petting zoo event was not very well executed and I worried about the animals. It was one small pen with baby goats, ducks, and bunnies all together (they also said on instagram that there were going to be pigs, not sure what happened there. Combined with how many kids they were letting in at a time, there really wasn’t a lot of room for them. They had to endure getting very aggressively pet by all the kids, which I think could’ve been prevented by closer supervision. The person that seemed to be monitoring the pen wasn’t very involved. Kids were literally shaking the cage and no one was telling them to stop. It bothered me a lot to see that.
There didn’t seem to be any attempt at making guests form a line either, it was kind of just a disorganized free-for-all. It was so busy and they didn’t seem to be monitoring for capacity at all. I understand this was a free event, but I think that it could’ve been better executed and I think the comfort of the animals should’ve been prioritized. Very few parking spaces in the front of the bar (tiny lot facing the street Delridge), but plenty in back entrance. You’ll have to drive into the small business park behind the bar and the corner store, then turn into the lot on your right and go towards the back entrance of Ounces. There will be a short flight of stairs, but worth it if you came by car.

Pretty good place! Love that it’s hyper local and has a great rotation of food trucks and more importantly DOGS. :) the beer is pricey though and there are tons of loud kids.
I left this review years ago and will update it to say there are currently more kids than adults so it is definitely a play space vibe. Lowers my vote by a full star. I am looking to get away from kids. 🤣 it’s like McDonald’s in here. You will be out numbered by kids. So if you have kids and want to be those parents, go for it. For everyone else, steer clear. We had to leave it just got to be way too much.
and the permanent food is not great. Especially for vegetarian. I really miss the rotating food trucks. That was always a lot of fun...
