nah fam. we walked in yesterday during lunch break for school and there was no line. there was only one barista in the front. for a solid 10 minutes, he has his back turned to us the entire time, prioritizing the online orders. a line started to grow behind us, and he was still doing other things. he never spoke to us and told us he’ll be right there you know? even the people in kitchen looked out at us and we’re just laughing, didn’t even bother to help out the huge rush. eventually after 15 min of waiting he finally took our orders, as well as the 10 other people behind us! so even tho our order was finally taken, he decided to take the whole line behind us! so no drinks were being made during that time. once he finished the rushs orders, he went back to doing online orders first, with all of us waiting for him. at one point he kinda paused and was on his phone laughing. at this point, our lunch break had ended and classed had started. we had to go up there and ask him when he was planning to make them! boba drinks should not take 30 minutes! y’all needa step up your customer service and efficiency. you guys are lacking a lot of that and your good reviews won’t cover you...
Read moreI know several people that occasionally come to Rain Cafe for some bubble tea, and I have actually never gotten anything from Rain Cafe yet, even though I usually go to Kiki's Bakery right next door.
If I'm being honest, I was pretty impressed! I got the tropical creama with boba which had passion fruit and mango topped with cheese foam. It was a very refreshing drink, and the foam really helped balance the sweetness, and added an element of saltyness. It all worked very well together. As for the boba... it was also very good! Perfectly cooked, and really soft, and also pretty flavorful too!
The staff were pretty friendly and sweet, that also goes for the inside of the place. I was actually surprised to see a couple of people sitting down and eating at their own booths. I was also surprised by the size of Rain Cafe as well.
Overall, I thought that it was pretty solid place with some delicious drinks! Maybe I'll swing...
Read moreThey randomly serve poke.
I've come a handful of times her since they opened, because I live nearby, each time looking forward to some poke, but I've only had it once. I've come at different times and days (early/late/mid-day, weekend/weekday) and when I do I'll ask, "Are you serving poke?" And the counter girl will turn to the same guy each time who just shakes his head and says, "no poke." Last time I asked the girl if there was a schedule when they serve, but she just said, "umm weve kind of just been doing it for a few hours and then stopping." I don't know what that means. When I said maybe they should put the hours or something on the board so customers know, she didn't really respond.
The food is quite good, and I'd like to give it more stars, but the service is just lacking and disappointing. They go out of their way to advertise as a poke bar but never seem to serve poke. I don't think I'll be back again...
