Horrible, down right unacceptable. I'm not one to leave comments about a business, good or bad, but my experience with this particular location has been so bad, I just couldn't let it go untold.
I order the EXACT same two things every time I go in: a Grande, 5-shot White Mocha, w/ 6 pumps of white mocha and a Ham & Cheese Turnover. That's it. Doesn't seem THAT complicated to me, but for some reason, they've found a way to screw it up, the last four times, IN A ROW, that I've gone in. Trip #1) I don't know exactly what happened, but my beverage tasted like sweet milk. Not only did I NOT get my extra shots, but I don't think I even got a single shot, because there was not even a tint of brown, and when I took it back to have it done right, the barista got offended and implied that the extra white mocha drowned the strength of the shots so all you can taste is sweetness. Okay guy, then explain why I can still taste the friggin milk, AND, THIS ISN'T THE FIRST TIME I'VE EVER ORDERED THIS DRINK, I KNOW WHAT THE HELL IT'S SUPPISE TO TASTE LIKE. Trip #2) Because it was 100°F out, they give me my Mocha iced, even though they SPECIFICALLY asked me and I told them HOT, they gave it to me iced anyways. Trip #3) This time, I switched it up on them and got a 5 shot espresso w/ 6 pumps of white mocha, topped off with half & half. Well, the cashier said "that's basically a white mocha." So, the reason I ordered the espresso is because I didn't want the milk and ordering it this way makes it a tad cheaper. Why should I have to argue with them to get exactly what I want? Besides, a barista at another location told me to do it this way because there wasn't much room for the steamed milk, after the 6 pumps of wh. Mocha and 5 shots, yet I was still having to pay for the steamed milk. She said this would be cheaper for me. Unfortunately, her intelligence isn't present at this location. And finally, trip #4) The reason I will never spend a single dollar at Starbucks for as long as I live. I asked for my usual Ham & Cheese TURNOVER, but when I get to the window, the worker hands me a Ham & Cheese Breakfast Sandwich, while asking me if I wanted THAT or the turnover, even though I asked for the turnover and they even repeated that back to me at the order station. WOW!!! Is all I can say.
I just don't get it. To me, this is completely unacceptable, for them to have so much trouble with such a simple order. Why? Who knows, maybe it's because it isn't complicated enough, I don't know. But when I spend $11.29, plus $1 tip, I expect my order to be correct. At least half the time, for...
Read moreClosest Starbucks store to the mothership that is their international headquarters a couple blocks down the road. This place is always jamming busy and they are actually pretty friendly, run pretty smoothly, and most of the time pretty friendly. So if it's such a good experience then why only three stars and not five you ask? Simple....
I worked as a contractor inside the SSC on and off for seven years, as my former employer's biggest account is Starbucks, as well as visited their stores all over the US and Europe. If there is one thing Starbucks strives for above all the smiles and funky furniture it's product consistently. And after the last few decades they've mastered it. I can walk into a Starbucks downtown Seattle or of the Thames in central London and know exactly what I'm getting when I order it. In some countries where the coffee consistently sucks, (like the UK,) this can be a blessing. Or in a place where you literally have a coffee shop on every corner like Seattle it can be your downfall and a curse. I am by no means a coffee snob at all. I don't know what half of the menu is. But I know good coffee plain and simple. I've had some of Italy's finest and some of Britain's worst. (to be fair tea really is the UKs thing and they are killing it in that department.) And sadly this is at the end of the day an average Starbucks with their consistently average coffee. When your goal is to set the bar for the world and achieve it you're not going to get five stars when there's a killer local one off joint down the street that is... Just like Starbucks was in the 70s when there was just the one in Pike place market back then
Still a good stop for your morning cup in a hurry and always an A for effort and friendly faces...
Read moreI had actually just purchased a Venti Caramel Macchiato, dunno if I'm spelling that right, from the Starbucks on 4th street. I pulled out into traffic and took that 1st glorious sip of the morning. As I was placing it back into my cup holder, someone cut across 2 lanes and right in front of me, causing to to slam on my brakes and spilling my coffee everywhere. I then drove to the 1st Ave store and ordered a new one. I was laughing, as I ordered and he couldn't understand me, laughing cuz I didn't know if I was more made at the guy who cut me off, wasting a wonderful cup of coffee or knowing how wonderful my car is smelling is going to turn into something not so wonderful. Also, today is my birthday so it was a mad, sarcastic, let it go kind of laugh. I explained what happened and ordered a new coffee. When I got to the window to pay, they refused to take any payment or tip, wished me a happy birthday and said it was on them. Also, telling me my day, my birthday day, would only go up from here. Thank you for turning a bad situation into and awesome start to a day that started so terribly. Best birthday present is I get to have that glorious 1st sip from a new coffee again. Thank you to all of the Crew at 1st Ave Starbucks, in Sodo. Now I get to spend my birthday cleaning my carpet but as I write this, I can't help but notice how wonderful my car smells!!!! Thank...
