We had an incredible experience during our stay at the Lotte Hotel Seattle. Special mention to Kara at reception who was kind and thoughtful with every interaction. Our room was SO comfortable. Absolutely a 5-star hotel room experience. It is an amazing feeling to be as comfortable as you are at home in a hotel, and that is exactly how we felt. The bed & bed linens were top notch. We slept so well every night thanks to the bed, the temperature of the room (well controlled), and how quiet it was. We literally could not hear anything that disturbed us. The bathroom and bath products were fantastic. There was a huge shower (loved it!) with rainfall showerhead and regular showerhead. Nice shelf for your bath products. 1 bit of advice; at least in the room we stayed in (Deluxe King Bay View) there was no door to the bathroom. Like, at all. If it was just my husband & I that would have been fine, but we had his sister spend the night one evening to best make it to our activity in San Juan Islands next day, and it was awkward taking a shower in a bathroom with no door as well as a room completed decked out in mirrors. I can't imagine this bothering a lot of people if traveling as a couple. We ordered in-room dining twice; once a sandwich from the late night menu (turkey club) and 2nd time was a breakfast. Both were timely and presented with attention to detail. However, personally I would recommend passing on any in-room dining. Neither were tasty. The breakfast was stunning; Jose who delivered it was the most kind, but the food did not taste good to us. The other recommendation to maybe cautiously proceed with- spa treatments. Very kind staff but seems like there is a noticeable lack of experience. Could be that they are newly getting this started since they just opened and during COVID. Just think for the price it should be exceptional and it currently is average. Some above & beyond, 5-star service experiences: We were delivered a handwritten note from the general manager with chocolates thanking us for staying with them. We ordered a meal from Doordash and the valet team literally delivered this to our room for us-- so amazing and unexpected! Our sister needed to pop in to use the restroom before driving back to Lacey and the valet team permitted her a brief stop out front to do so. Housekeeping was exceptional and courteous. Absolutely flawless housekeeping team. The room was SO clean. There are smart COVID measures in place. My husband wanted a cappuccino outside of the hours for that item; the person he asked about it took this on personally and made him an exceptional cappuccino (which made his night!). Overall, there are very few hotel/resort stays that I would even hold in the same category of the Lotte Hotel Seattle. Exceptional. If you are in Seattle, definitely stay here...
Read moreTo say I had a bad experience at the Lotte would be an understatement. At nine months pregnant, my husband and I decided to do a staycation for a night at the Lotte for our anniversary. I was looking forward to a nice shower and relaxation in a nice room. We had spent nights at the Lotte for special occasions previously and had a good time.
We booked through Amex platinum which generally gets you noon check in. We called around noon to confirm and were told our room would be ready at 4. No problem. We arrived at 4 only to be told that our room was not available and would not be available until, at earliest, 7 pm. We were upset because why tell us the room would be available at 4 only to have us wait multiple hours afterwards. We tried to make the best of the situation. That said, we had dinner reservations at 6 and the symphony to get to at 730. And I needed to shower (and was looking forward to a nice hotel room shower). I asked if I could use any room to shower until our room was available. I was told no. I ended up showering in the gym/spa locker room where the water did not get hot (the knob kept on sliding to lukewarm) and there was no hair dryer or even full body towels.
They then told me I could wait in their “hospitality room” which was a small room with 30 other people (I kid you not) who had also not received their room on time. People were not pleased. And at nine months pregnant the last thing I wanted was to be in a cramped room with other people. And quite frankly I was upset that my last child-free anniversary was being spent like this.
At this point, around 530, we still didn’t have our room. My husband proceeded to plead with concierge only to be met with attitude: “There’s nothing we can do. It is what it is.” We spoke to the manager and she said that we could cancel our reservation and that we could celebrate our anniversary at the Lotte another night on them given the inconvenience. She gave us her business card and told us to email her. We emailed her the next day asking if we could come back in two weeks (9 and a half months pregnant) as that was the last time we would be able to do so for ages. It’s now been a week and we haven’t received an email back, or even an acknowledgement of receipt of our email. I’ve been trying to give the Lotte the benefit of the doubt given I’ve had wonderful stays, but this experience left such a sour taste in my mouth that I felt compelled to review. And the fact that this was happening to dozens of other people at the hotel showed me that the Lotte truly didn’t care for their guests. In short, stay at the Lotte at your own risk. You may not get your room that you spent good money on, even during...
Read moreMy 12 year old daughter and I stayed the weekend at The Lotte Hotel and I can’t possibly say enough wonderful things about it. First, their concierge Paul helped answer my questions and schedule transportation before we even arrived. Then, their lovely guest services attendant Sun Woo upgraded our room to ensure my daughter had her own bed (we were originally planning to share a bed) and a beautiful view, as it was her first time seeing skyscrapers. The bartender, Levi gave my daughter a soda on the house as a welcome treat in the lounge, and each and every employee who spoke to us this weekend did so with the utmost grace and kindness. Holding doors, asking if we needed anything, greeting us when we arrived and left. We were always well attended to.
Outside of the impeccable service, the hotel itself is gorgeous! The art, the hallways, the lobby, and our room were spotless, attractive, and well appointed. Our room was spotless and SO comfortable.
Our first night in, we got back to the room late and a little hungry. We ordered a midnight snack of warm fresh baked cookies and milk. The next morning, we had a beautiful breakfast delivered. Everything was fresh, hot, and delicious.
The next night, after a big day exploring we decided to cancel our dinner reservations out and eat in the lounge. While they have a full restaurant upstairs, the walk-up lounge is less formal, doesn’t require reservations, and offers nibbles and a kids menu that were perfect for my daughter and I, while still in the same lovely space.
We had a great meal, excellent champagne and a mocktail for my daughter. Our attentive server even boxed up dessert for us to-go in beautiful wrappings so we could enjoy it in our room and have a movie night.
If I had a single negative thing to say about this sensational hotel, it’s that the walking proximity isn’t great. It’s a bit of a hike to the waterfront or other attractions and even worse coming back, as Seattle’s downtown is all up hill. However, that’s easily remedied with Uber, a town car service as we opted for (which the concierge helped us set up) or the complimentary hotel car, if it’s available.
Overall, I would stay here a million times over and recommend it to anyone looking for upscale accommodations in Seattle.
Lotte Hotel, you’ve outdone yourself...
