Pizza debates are always fraught with loyalties, what does or doesn't belong on the pie and which city does it best. At the core of these spirited arguments is a deep and abiding love for one of the greatest foods ever created. Much can be forgiven in these back and forths, even when the debate turns ugly, because at the end of the day we are fighting for something we are truly passionate about.
All this to say, hands down, Dantini is the best pizza in Seattle. I won't take away from any of the other incredible pie slingers in the city, but Garrett and his team consistently put out high quality, creative, seasonal and insanely delicious food. It was genuinely love at first bite seeing the immense amount of garlic confit on the pepperoni pie and anyone who keeps calabrian chili readily on hand is someone worthy of respect.
I could continue to wax poetic about how well the dough is made and the special attention to local ingredients, but all of those will sing for themselves once you try Dantini out for yourself. Always try the current seasonal white pie, treat yourself to a grandma slice every once in a while and I highly encourage you to take your pizza to Golden Gardens with a bottle of wine and watch the sun set. It will be a core memory and let's be honest, it's nice to be kind to yourself from...
Read moreThis is THE BEST pizza in Seattle (NY style or not) and probably far beyond. I see no room for improvement. Technical perfection by every measure including leoparding on the bottom, crispy-chewy crust, structural stability, and top quality ingredients. Topping selection is great. I got a red pie with half pepp + roasted garlic and the other half pineapple. I don't normally like pineapple on pizza but my date does and I tried a slice - still delicious! The pepperoni and garlic is unbeatable but this pizza would be godlike regardless of the toppings. I'll be back for a white pie really soon. Pro Tip: You can take your food inside Holy Mountain brewery next door! They'll text you when it's ready. Secret Menu Alert (may be discontinued): They don't do individual slices but they make a 9" sub with bread made from their pizza dough, capocollo, mortadella, and provolone that SLAPS. One of the best subs you'll ever have. This pizza was too good to sit there taking pictures, so I've only got a picture of the sub from a previous visit. Crew are always friendly, communicative, and professional. Not always fast, but that's a worthy sacrifice for doing the job right - it's a non-issue. Treat and tip them nicely! Seattle, you have an obligation to make this...
Read moreHands down the best pizza in Seattle. Some of the most delicious and creative toppings you’ll see on a pizza… absolutely perfect airy doughy and yet crispy crust… flavorful but not overpowering sauce… delicious and evenly distributed cheese… what more could you want?
I am a pizza “enthusiast” and Dantini is legit better than a lot of the pizza I’ve had in Brooklyn. All of the folks who work there are so nice, and you can tell they’re passionate about what they do. If you like pepperoni, you’re going to be blown away by their pepperoni + caramelized garlic… every time I have it (which is almost every week) it’s like a religious experience. Get it with extra pepp ;)
They share a space with Log Cabin Distillery, which has a bar, so I highly recommend eating in or at least getting a drink while you wait for your pie. You can also take your pies next door to Holy Mountain Brewing and enjoy them with some delicious fresh beer.
Don’t sleep on their kale salad (they make all their dressings in house), their white pies - which feature a homemade ricotta base that is truly incredible - and lastly their calabrian chili ranch for dipping.
If you love pizza, you owe it to yourself to try out this...
