The thaiger room in the University district has one of the worst customer service in the world. My friend and I have been there multiple times and every single time they don't greet us in a friendly manner. They always seat us by the door and when we ask to move to the back they give us attitude and reluctantly move us. There has been multiple occasions where they give the people next to us water and food before us even though we come in earlier. And they did the exact same thing to us when we went in today. They gave us our food late and didn't serve us water right away as they did the people that came after us and on top of that our food came late. I decided that I did not want to tip because of their continued poor customer service. She gave us the receipt and we paid without tipping and on our way out, she yelled across the room saying "why didn't you tip us." She decided to confront us about tipping in front of everyone in a very unprofessional manner. I told her straight up that her customer service had turned me off and didn't give me any reason to tip and to that all she had to say is "you will learn when you get older." There's more she said but I don't feel like getting into it. If I could give this restaurant no stars, i WOULD. But then I wouldn't be able to post this. Bottom line, don't go to Thaiger room. Read moreI don't normally write reviews, especially negative ones, but the service for dinner tonight was just bad. When we arrived, there weren't very many people in the restaurant and we ordered our food and drinks. We had ordered an appetizer to share and three Thai Iced Teas in addition to our entrees. Neither the appetizer nor the drinks came, but eventually after a good long time the entrees did. We asked about both the appetizer and the drinks and a man who I assume must be the owner told us the appetizer was coming in an annoyed tone but ran off without saying anything about the drinks. We got about halfway through our entrees when the appetizer finally arrived. We then asked our server again about the drinks and she apologized. The drinks finally did come but I was little confused that everyone around us had been served pint glasses for their Thai Iced Teas and we had smaller mason jars.
So we got to enjoy our appetizer and drinks finally, but had mostly finished our entrees. Then, the same owner guy had the gall to tell us to leave so that other customers could come and sit at our table. Meanwhile, my friend is still trying to finish the drink he received extremely late.
I will never come to Thaiger Room again and will suggest to anyone else I know to...
Read moreMy wife and I both LOVE the food here (even though most of the time the food takes too long to arrive at our table, i.e., 20 mins minimum). This review is tough to write because we do not want to take any credit away from the cooking. However, the professionalism in this restaurant can be improved significantly.
During my wife's last visit, she sat down at a table, ordered and finished her meal, and was given the check. She promptly paid the check via card and decided for that day that she would NOT give a tip. However, she is a regular customer and gives tips frequently when she feels the service is acceptable at this restaurant. This specific time she did not feel the service was acceptable and thus did not tip.
Two waiters individually approached my wife to ask why she would not give a tip, which by the way is optional and our right as patrons of a restaurant to give or not give. The waiters argued rudely with my cool-minded wife about why they think they deserve a tip. They forced my wife to give a tip which she politely refused to do so.
Overall, this has left a negative feeling of this restaurant staffs'...
