This was our third stay at The Watertown Stay Pineapple Hotel. It has become our go to home away from home when we come to Seattle for medical appointments. They have a discount for patients of Seattle Children's Hospital. If you are looking for a hotel that is close to Seattle Children's, then this is it, its about 5-10 mins away depending on traffic. The entire staff from the front desk, Pineapple Cafe and room attendants are top notch. The beds are super comfy and the rooms are always clean. They provide free coffee, yummy pineapple water and cookies in the lobby as well as an endless supply of water bottle's for guests and they provide a recycle bin for the water bottles in the lobby and in the rooms so they support recycling. The beds have 2 soft and cozy duvets so you don't have to fight for covers with someone. You will never be without a pillow or 2 if you need one either. The bath towels are so good, not small and lame like some other hotels out there. The rooms have a iron and ironing board, hair dryer, hangers, a coded safe and some really nice bathrobes. They have a small dorm style fridge that keep things nice and cold. In the shower there is shampoo and conditioner, incase you forget yours. They also have a soap and lotion dispenser by the sink which is just outside the bathroom. They also have handicap accessible rooms. Another bonus to this hotel is the parking garage. You have to be let in by the front desk or use your room key card to enter. Gives a good sense of safety that its just hotel guests or employees who will be parking there. We have stayed at another hotel in Seattle and it pales in comparison to The Watertown. We were going to stay at a different hotel prior to our 3 stays here but the rooms we saw were not clean. We tried 3 rooms and they were all dirty and didn't look like the rooms attendants take pride in their job to well but we happened to find The Watertown by searching hotels close to the other hotel. I guess it was meant to be, so to speak because The Watertown met and exceeded our expectations. I won't say the name of the other hotel but lets just say we graduated to a much better and cleaner hotel. And one last bonus, if you have a dog that loves to travel with you, you can bring them to any Stay Pineapple Hotel. And you can purchase a stuffed Dash, he is the mascot for the Stay Pineapple Hotel. A portion of the purchase price goes to local animal shelters. Stay at a Stay Pineapple Hotel and...
Read moreMy husband and I stayed here for 3 nights, while work was done on our home. We booked the Boardroom suite, as we work from home and wanted some space to work and relax, which this room definitely gave us. The pros and cons were the following:
Pros: bed was incredibly comfortable, like crazy comfortable. If I had to recoup (like with the hospital package they offer), one would not be sad. Really nice, perhaps the best in a hotel in a long time.
The room is nicely decorated, love the vynl wood floors, so much nicer than mucky carpet, although super slippery for my dog, he had a tough time.
Dogs are very welcome, and that was really nice.
Cons:
Everything is an upsell, everything. The gimmicky 'pineapple' thing doesn't make much sense, but ok. Signs are all over the hotel, and placed in the room, that one might want to buy (fill in blank here), including the bed set up. The $20 "amenities fee" is insane. Roll it into the nightly price if necessary, but $20 for...? And then parking fees, etc.
Apathetic front desk staff. I don't need my hand held or happy birdy sunshine people, but I also don't want to feel I am a huge imposition as a customer. I felt like a simple request was the end of the world, with deep sighs and rolling eyes, that was not nice, especially for what we paid.
Absolutely NO amenities, no breakfast, no tea (coffee in the evenings), no cookies as promised, nothing. It is like checking into a capsule hotel in Japan. It was ok, but a bit of warmth would have been nice.
The furniture in the room was about as uncomfortable as possible. Specifically rented this room for the suite aspect, but the furniture was so awful, time was either spent on the bed, or sitting at the table. Could not relax on the sofa or chairs, awful. Also, who has a coffee table on roller feet that only lock on one wheel? Table slid all over the vynl floor, was both annoying and funny. Don't bother with a suite if you want space to relax, save your money.
Overall, it was ok, and would probs stay again, but not bother with a suite. Also, the Trinity market across the street has amazing yea, coffee and sandwiches. Really nice people and quality items, nice that is is right...
Read moreWe stayed here for one night while in town for a concert. I booked this hotel based on price, location, and parking availability and price. They have a secure garage with in/out privileges which was convenient since street parking was limited. Definitely request a spot in advance as parking is limited. It's $25 per night but other hotels I looked at were twice that much and I couldn't be sure parking was secure. We received a text to complete the check in early and it wasn't a problem when we showed up 30 minutes before our expected arrival. Quick stop at the front desk for our room keys, complimentary drink tickets, and a pineapple shaped sugar cookie. Our room was spacious and was equipped with typical amenities. Inclusion of a mini fridge was nice since not all hotels provide them anymore. Bathroom area was separated by a closet with doors on each side. Made for a bit of privacy which was a nice touch. Actual coffee mugs and glasses were provided which was a delight. Lovely smelling toiletries by Tommy Bahama aligned with the pineapple theme. Me and my husband are light sleepers but we turned on our fan for some white noise and didn't hear anything. We were located next to the elevator and across the hall from a room with a barking dog. Curtains kept the room dark but there is a separate shade you can pull down for privacy while still allowing natural light in. Bed was very comfortable to us. A tad on the firm side with squishy pillows and the duvets were light and fluffy while keeping us at a consistent temp all night. No noticeable dips or valleys in the bed either. Hotel is within walking distance of many bars, restaurants, UW bookstore, and other shopping which also made the parking worthwhile. Concert was at Climate Pledge Arena which was a quick 10-15 minute drive. Hotel does offer a shuttle which I would recommend for sightseeing as parking can be expensive and limited. We didn't use it only because we didn't know when our show would be over. This was one of the most pleasant, comfortable, and relaxing hotel stays I've ever had. I would definitely recommend it to anyone and it will be on the top of my list to book the next time I stay...
