The Neptune Theater, a historic 1920s venue, is a captivating space that sets the stage for unforgettable live events and shows. I had the pleasure of celebrating my birthday there while attending a mesmerizing performance by John Butler, and I must say, the experience was truly memorable.
The theater's classic building decor and unique stage lighting transport you to a bygone era, adding a touch of grandeur to the entire experience. The intricate details and architectural beauty of the venue create a truly spectacular setting for live performances. It's a visual feast for the eyes, and it adds a special ambiance that enhances the overall enjoyment of the event.
However, one aspect that could be improved is the crowded hallways, particularly during intermissions and when exiting the theater. The limited space can make it challenging to navigate through the crowds, especially when the same hallways are used for merchandise sales. It would be beneficial if the venue could find a way to alleviate congestion and ensure a smoother flow of people during these peak times.
Despite the minor inconvenience of the cramped hallways, The Neptune Theater remains a charming and beloved venue. Its historical significance, combined with the caliber of performances it hosts, makes it a popular destination for locals and visitors alike. The theater's ability to attract renowned artists like John Butler is a testament to its reputation as a premier live entertainment venue in the area.
In conclusion, The Neptune Theater offers a unique and captivating experience for live events. Its vintage charm and breathtaking decor create an enchanting atmosphere that enhances the magic of the performances. While the crowded hallways can be a slight drawback, it does not overshadow the overall experience and the joy of witnessing exceptional shows at this historic venue. I would highly recommend attending an event at The Neptune Theater and immersing yourself in its rich history and vibrant...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreWe sat front row of the balcony for a comedy show. The acoustics and view were great. There is no leg room up against the balcony, so prepare to be couped up. Stadium style seating on the balcony, tight fit and no cup holders. The men's bathroom was just outside the theater doors to our aisle seats, so we experienced a lot of commotion with people coming/going through the entire show. Great air flow in the building though, so it wasn't stuffy or very hot, even with a packed house. Consessions were popcorn available in several sizes, candy and soft drinks (we did not visit the bar but I understandalcoholwas availableas well). They were priced as expected (expensive, just as you'd get at a movie theater or any event) and the candy is bulk packaged in plastic cups. They ran out of bottled water before the show even started. They tried to remedy it by offering small cups (no lid) for a water fountain. Metal detection and bag checks are always a plus and the small line was moving quickly. Several security personell present throughout the venue, but the on duty police officer at the entrance (inside) was literally on her phone texting and even scrolling the entire time. She hardly ever looked up for anything or anyone suspicious. The venue is right next to a light rail stop, so you don't have to worry about parking if you can catch the rail. There are nearby lots and garages for paid parking, but they don't look very safe and secure, clean or even well lit. Street parking can be hard to find during events but it is usually free based...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreI have seen two concerts here now and both were amazing. Switchfoot last April and Echosmith this last weekend.
They serve a good variety of drinks, including local favorites such as Seattle Cider. The food is much less impressive with movie theater pricing for Target style popcorn and cups of cashews? But, if you are like me you don't go there for the food. You go for the experience of getting up close to the music that makes you feel something.
There is something intimate about this smaller venue that feels nostalgic- almost like a high school talent show, but in all the best ways possible. We showed up a few minutes late and ended up crossing the street with the headlining band. When they went on we were able to get right next to the stage and felt like we were watching our friends perform. This place is rich in history (99 years old) and it just feels special to be there.
I got teared up both times I went here from the mixture of raw talent, spot-on acoustics (no bad seat in the house), and the blend of people from all walks of life harmonizing in unison to a slice of our lives' soundtrack that helped define who we are. It felt so good to look around the room and share an evening with the artists who moved us and impacted our lives. No judgement, no politics, no division. Just love being shared in a place full of strangers with a common thread.
I have made some unforgettable memories here and can't wait to return the next time one of my favorite bands...
