Updated Review: Not going to be going here any longer. Their prices have increased so much it is just too much. Their quality has taken a dip as well so it just doesnt make sense. Their GF pizza a year ago was $24 it is now $29. I am sorry but that is just insane. And I am not even sure they are making it in house. The potato’s pizza used to be light and tasty…it is now a lot more cheese and the crust is usually crunchy and hard. The quality of the GF just doesnt call for a nearly $30 price tag. The price of their regular pizza has gone up as well. I understand all food has gone up but almost $60 for two pizzas is a lot. And its funny I really didn’t realize the price increase until the least time we ordered in August and i thought gosh i don’t remember it being this much. they always charged an extra $3 for GF (why?? ) and I still didn’t recall it being that much. So I went back to a purchase a year ago and it was $5 cheaper. —————- One of our go to places for pizza! I love that acre has great gluten free options. Any of their pies can be done GF. I love their potato pizza, its simple and good. Their regular pizza is pretty good. My husband loves it. He is from NY and this is probably as close to that as he has gotten. Their Detroit style if you like that is pretty good but filling. These are expensive so if you want cheaper this isn’t your place.
I will say the GF crust the last few times has been cooked a bit too much and is burnt or super crispy (which isn’t my thing). They are also really busy so make sure you order in plenty of time. Oh and if you are ordering online and picking up beware that they automatically add a tip. You can change it but just beware this has become more frequent for establishments lately to add tips for food even...
Read moreMy experience was extremely poor. Within the display case in front of the area that said “Detroit Style Pizza” was a delicious looking pizza so we ordered what we thought was the “Detroit Style”. We waited 40 minutes for our pizza that was supposed to take 20 minutes—ended up our pizza was ready and waiting in a hot box all the while we were waiting 10 feet away and never announced our name, the person who took our order gave another couple that was right next to us their food so it’s not like she didn’t see us there. I didn’t even have to say my name when I came up to check on my order, she knew who the pizza belonged to. When we got home I opened the box to a type of pizza that was not displayed in the case. Come to learn that what was in the case under Detroit style was Sicilian style pizza. I do not enjoy the type of pizza that was given to us, I wanted what (I now know) as Sicilian style. The food we were given was okay...
Read moreI drove from Chico to transfer some kittens to the Humane Society down the street from Acre Pizza. I asked one of the staff members (Anna) about vegan food nearby. She mentioned Acre Pizza and even did the chefs kiss motion so I knew I had to go. The guy at the counter was friendly and helpful. I ordered the Detroit Vegan Sausage. I've never had a Detroit-style pizza and always wanted to try one so I was excited about this. My food was ready within 15-20 mins and I got back on the road to Chico. Driving while eating a deep dish pizza: NOT RECOMMENDED. But man, I literally moaned when I took that first bite. Holy cow, the crust was so good, the cheese was perfect (so many pizza places overdo the vegan cheese I guess in a way to make up for the lack of meat?), the flavor combinations were out of this world, and over a week later I can't stop thinking about it. Highly,...
