Lovely dim sum spot! I’m Vietnamese and Cantonese and grew up going to Yum Cha with my parents in Chinatown and feasting on Chinese tapas aka dim sum. When I moved to Jersey, I was so sad that there weren’t any places that sold great dim sum. That was until I found Dim Sum Station in Hackensack! My prayers were answered. Fast fwd to years later and now I find a Dim Sum Station in Secaucus! I had to try it and it did not disappoint. This dim sum is closer to authentic dim sum than many places in Jersey. The pan fried turnip cakes (lor bok goh) were one of my favorite dishes. Soft on the inside and crispy on the outside. Delicious. The chicken feet (fong zhou) was made in a different sauce than I’m used to with traditional dim sum, but I was pleasantly surprised. It was salty, sweet and just the right amount of spicy. I ordered the pan fried shrimp and chive cakes too but they were soooo good I ate them all before I got a picture. Those were my absolute favorite. The owner and employees were also nice and there are signs up that ask you not to tip since they’re a self service restaurant and they feel tipping culture has gotten out of control. I’ll def be going back to try the rest...
Read moreI ordered Dim Sum through Uber Eats, and got a variety of dishes. All the food looked delicious, but I have to say that I was pretty disappointed in the flavors of the food. I get it, they're not gonna have a master dumpling maker in their kitchen cranking out top tier Dim Sum.
But I have to be honest and say that the dumplings taste like they are pre-packaged frozen.
The pork dumplings taste, look, and smell exactly like what you get at your local take out spot. Kinda greasy, and the dipping sauce was flavorless.
The Sui Mai had a decent enough texture. The filling was bouncy & slightly crunchy from the shrimp. The issue was a lack of flavor.
The lotus leaf sticky rice filled with pork was a decent portion of food and looked delicious, again it lacked flavor.
I definitely will not order from here again. Sorry to have to say this.
Egg tarts were delicious though, so good...
Read moreI have decided to give Secaucus Dim Sum Station another try since my first experience was horrible. This location quality is very bad compared to the Hackensack location. I got the beef rice noodle, the shrimp had gow, the egg tarts, the turnip cakes. The egg tart pastry is tough and not like the one in Hackensack and the egg custard isn’t sweet at all and the beef rice noodle the meat is not very good at all and they use the same meat as the meat patty for their rice option. Presentation is very sloppy and messy. The tapioca skin for the har gow wasn’t great at all. Hackensack is much better in terms of quality...
