This is one of my favorite stays within the Extended Stay America hotel locations near the American Dream Mall, but it could still be bettered upon. PARKING I highly suggest finding out where your room is first before you bring in your bags or park your car in any location or spot. There is plenty of parking! If you're lucky, they may give you a rear facing hotel room that has a gorgeous view of the water, highway, sunset, and the American Dream Mall. After you check-in, you receive a parking pass to hang on your rearview mirror. So you have to come back out anyway, hence why I gave the tip to wait. I have never felt more safe parking my car at an Extended Stay than this one! Parking is free though, and included with your stay! I think it's also really cool that you can dock your boat here, not that I own one. ROOM The room is very similar to all of the other Extended Stay's. From the lighting to the color and choice of decor. It's very on brand. This location, in particular, is one of the best smelling, quietest, and also fanciest of all the ones we've tried thus far. The only thing my man and I didn't enjoy, was the bed. It was uncomfortable. If you have any previous injuries, they will flare up sleeping on this bed. I woke up in pain multiple times in the night and sore in the morning after. Despite that, I still felt decently well-rested. I found the view to be very lovely, and because of it I would return but I'm on the fence because of the sleeping arrangements. We were also only given a full bed, when we booked a Queen Studio - Non-Smoking room. For the price of $141.91, we feel slighted. But because we got the view & it was generally clean, we didn't make a fuss. It felt doable for the night, and led us to cuddle the whole night which was lovely. BATHROOM Definitely one of the nicer bathrooms, but the tub had a hard time draining water. Noticeable wear and tear, and whoever cleaned the room didn't empty out the trashcan in the bathroom before our stay. BREAKFAST The breakfast of this location wasn't the worst nor the best. They did still have options available, despite the fact we came a few minutes after 9am. LOCATION The 3 highway is located right next to this hotel, making it a great stay if you're visiting the American Dream Mall. You will not be able to walk there, but it's about a 6 minute drive. OVERALL It's really a toss up with all Extended Stay's whether you get a good experience or a bad one, but most of them are just average. I wouldn't walk into any of these hotels expecting a luxury stay, but I had a pleasant experience here. Definitely considering on returning, but it depends! To read more in-depth about this hotel, or other, that is best for your needs when visiting the American Dream Mall, check out my website "dreamlikediana".

Recently I stayed at an extended stay hotel in California, so naturally after getting off the flight I figured I would receive the same impeccable service. Boy was I wrong! Once I reached the extended stay America Secaucus Meadowland location I was greeted by Seacaucus fire department. If the shock of the fire alarm blaring wasn’t my first red flag, I don’t know what else would have been. The firemen informed me that the smoke alarm was going off because a guest was smoking in the room. New Jersey hotel policy prohibits any smoking in any hotel rooms. Even after better judgment I continue checking into the room due to travel exhaustion. Once I open the side door to walk towards my room (119), I was met with the most pungent smell of urine and staleness. After further inspection of the road I was extremely disgusted by the neglect of housekeeping. There was a huge urine stain in the middle of the bed, dirty sheets, as well as filthy bacterial residue all over the chairs. Adderly disgusted I walked to the front desk where I was met by the clerk who continued her conversation for roughly 10 to 15 minutes with the manager before acknowledging my needs. After explaining my complete discussed and other disappointment, the clerk explained that I would have to wait roughly 7 business days to get my money refunded. I politely asked why I would have to wait seven days, when I was not even in the room for longer than seven minutes. At that point the manager explained over the phone and that was policy so I collected my belongings and hastily removed myself from an unfit, nasty, bacterial, cesspool of a hotel. In conclusion, I made sure to take pictures of the filthiness; so therefore this can not only be reported to corporate but is well as anybody else who plans to rent a room at this location.

I’ll take a raggedy, clean hotel every day over an overpriced, dirty one. That’s this hotel. They’re waaay behind on repairs. The elevators didn’t pass inspection but wasn’t bad enough to shut them down; (I read the permit in the elevator); the rooms are dated; the tub needs to be replaced or refinished; sometimes you have to run the water for 15 minutes (yes minutes) to get the water hot. But it’s clean! And affordable especially if you’re staying long term. And the location is ideal. Close to NYC, Newark, shopping and restaurants. I did hear my neighbor shouting about bedbugs and trashing his room. Unfortunately, you can’t escape bedbugs these days. They do not discriminate and can be found in the upscale hotels too. As far as customer service, it leaves much to be desired. But the same can be said about any ESA. I’ve stayed in several in different states. It seems to be a company culture. They are more concerned about themselves than the guests. For example, the guy next door didn’t even get an apology, compassion or an offer of compensation. Instead he was simply told there’s nothing that can be done at night and they don’t have any spray. Seriously?! Some compassion and creative problem solving can go a long way. Not surprised though. When I called about my TV not working for hours, I was told “We’re busy. You gotta give us a few.” No one ever showed up. I expect this at ESAs though. Despite all this, I’m coming back. Why? Because it’s clean! Clean and affordable. Just check the room thoroughly for bed bugs before unpacking.

Have been at this hotel for six months now (arrived Aug 2024) due to a work project in the area, counting the days till I can leave. I have reached the point that I am so disgusted with the way this place is maintained and run that I had to submit a review. Do yourself a favor and DO NOT STAY HERE.||||When you arrive, the staff seems friendly and helpful. I understand this is an ESA not one of the higher end hotels, but you still should be able to expect a clean room and clean towels. Be prepared to ask multiple times for standard services otherwise nothing will happen.||||Their policy is too "clean" your room every 15 days. I'd like to know who only cleans their house every 15 days; this is disgusting. Multiple times they have left hair in the tub and not wiped down the shower walls to the point mold started to grow. I have a small hand vacuum and have vacuumed the carpet as soon as I get back to the room after their "cleaning" and still pick up a lot of hair and dirt from the carpet. Not to mention if you take a wet paper towel and wipe the floor it turns gray from dirt. We have been told that the housekeepers do not clean the kitchen sink during your stay even if there are no dishes in it. Who cleans it??? You are not provided any cleaning supplies to do it yourself nor should you be as this is their job. We have received bath towels and wash cloths with dirt stains on them. One morning I had to open all four towels to find one that didn't have stains on it. If you go to the front desk and voice your concerns, they act like they care but nothing ever changes unless you go to corporate then the manager acts like you never said anything to the front desk people even if it was the manager you spoke with.||||The inside of the microwave was flaking off and looked like someone burnt something in it. Got a new microwave on first complaint only because we had already contacted corporate about other previous concerns. ||||The stove top didn't get hot enough to cook properly. It took more than double the time to cook food, but Leroy (maintenance) said it was working okay. Marisol told him to change the burners. The stove now works properly.|||| The TV was manufactured in 2011, had a blurry picture and kept disconnecting from the internet. Leroy (maintenance) replaced it with one that was in their storage room and was in worse working order. Probably had taken it out of another room because it wasn't working properly. Picture was dull and blurry, sound cut out and stand was wobbly. After voicing concerns that the replacement TV was worse than the original nothing was done so contacted corporate again then they took a TV from another room for us. Same model and year but at least you can watch it and doesn't feel like it will fall off the stand. ||||The outside trash cans are usually full and there is trash, cigarette butts and empty liquor bottles around the parking lot and grass areas. There is also dog excrement all around the property. There were no pet waste bags provided for the first 5 month of staying here. I carry my own, but some people do not. After complaining enough, they finally put some out. I realize this is more on the pet owner but there should still be some responsibility on the hotel. ||||Saturday, 2/8/25, it snowed overnight and when going past the front desk around 8:00 AM on 2/9/25 (not snowing anymore since at least 6 AM) there was another guest there voicing their concerns about the condition of the sidewalks (not shoveled or salted). It took till 10:30 AM for sidewalks around the hotel to be shoveled. Later that afternoon Leroy (maintenance) was out by the dumpsters feeding the pigeons. He apparently has time to feed the birds but not to maintain the property.||||There are police at the hotel for disturbances sometimes multiple times in a week. Also, fire alarm goes off several times a week sometimes multiple in a day/night.||||I could go on about other things but feel this is getting too long for anyone to read the entire review so if you have a choice DO...

My stay at this extended hotel has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing. From the moment I checked in, I was told the hot water may take 10–15 minutes to work. When I asked if we’d be compensated for the inconvenience, I was told flatly, “We don’t give refunds.” That was the first red flag.

My room was dirty—gum stuck to the dresser, thick dust everywhere, and a broken TV with a completely blue screen. I had to deep clean the room myself using my personal supplies because it was clearly not cleaned before I arrived. When I called the front desk the next day (after arriving at midnight and having to get up at 5 a.m. for work), they questioned why I didn’t report it immediately, showing zero accountability.

Shortly after I complained, the manager Marisol called and falsely accused me of smoking in the room based on a vague comment from a maintenance worker. When I explained this wasn’t true, she doubled down and said she wouldn’t fine me because of the complaint I filed—making it feel retaliatory and manipulative. One of the workers later admitted he only smelled something faint, likely from outside.

Another incident happened when someone entered my room using a key card while my fiancé and dog were inside. I was then told by Marisol that my dog had to be in a cage when alone (which he wasn’t) and that I owed a pet fee no one ever mentioned at check-in. That’s on management, not me.

Marisol also claimed the room needed to be inspected because I was staying more than five days. But when I asked another staff member, they had no idea about such a policy. At this point, it’s hard not to feel like I’m being singled out and harassed. I’ve remained calm, respectful, and quiet throughout my stay, but I can’t enjoy my time here because of this continued, unnecessary conflict.

I paid a lot of money expecting professionalism and a clean, peaceful stay. Instead, I’ve experienced harassment, poor communication, lack of cleanliness, and disrespect. I do not recommend this place to anyone looking for a safe, respectful, and...
