This was my first time ordering from this establishment--solely off of the strength of the positive reviews.
I placed an online order through Uber eats for (1) hash brown with extra cheese and (1) Turkey & American Cheese cold sandwich.
The hash brown was very tasty BUT came plain, with no cheese.. which is the complete opposite of what I selected.
The sandwich which is described on their menu as containing onions and oil and vinegar was no where to be found on my sandwich. Sort of a big deal when you consider that all of the components that make up a sandwich makes a huge difference in taste and user enjoyment, considering the simplistic nature of said food.
Besides, how does one completely get their own menu item's ingredient list wrong?!
Despite my disappointment..in order to infuse some flavor into my sandwich, I ended up making an impromptu garlic aioli with the mayo that they remembered to send over and added one pickle to each sandwich slice.
Was it tasty? Yes..very! The ingredients were very fresh, the texture of the mayo..perfectly creamy yet light, the smell and texture of the bread, the airy shredded lettuce, the fresh juicy tomato and the "just right" amount of American cheese..all teleports me back to earlier years of late night deli runs to cure a long night of insomnia hunger pains. The lone pickle paired with the impromptu garlic infused mayo was robust enough to cut through the sieve of pre perceived blandness.
All in all, this is an establishment that I would indeed frequent, in-person. I would try my luck and Order online again but with...
Read moreI am so pissed at this place, I like a good bagel and saw such good rating and reviews so gave it a try but totally disappointed. Not sure whether some people just don’t listen to what customer is requesting or they listen but ignore and do what the heck they want to do with the order. Ordered whole wheat flat bagel, toasted dark or well with butter. Mentioned couple of times, please toasted well or dark, but they ignored and may be less than a minute called my name, I confirmed again is it toasted well, they discussed in Spanish and nodded yes, and it’s minimally toasted and skimped on butter so I am eating unbuttered dough with coffee. The price for flat bagel toasted with butter and small drip coffee was $ 6.75 which I felt was crazy, bagel was $3.75. Totally disappointing experience and probably my first and last at this place. Just listen to customer and make order as they asked and they’ll come back,...
Read moreSince i live around the block literally, I go get my coffee. Which btw, I quit drinking over a year ago. The best always fresh coffee. I prefer the "House Blend". And they have great Parfait, and buy one a day minimum. Their bagels are very good as well. Also I asked Enrique the owner & his wife Marybell, if they have fresh desserts.? They have the wrapped ones, which are good to. And I had suggested fresh cheesecake & within a couple days? There they were! Fresh slice of Cheesecake and also Tiramisu to boot. Omg, definitely recommend for all. I also bought a ham, turkey, american cheese with bacon 🥓 lettuce, tomato & raw red Bermuda onion on an everything bagel. Well, it was delicious and I was stuffed. I suggest you come in and try J&V bagel. You won't be disappointed. Very friendly family that cares for their...
