El Espolon — Restaurant in Sedalia

The food here has been going downhill for years it was really good before years ago we go there like once a year maybe twice it just keeps getting worse. The prices have doubled it's terrible last night was the worst it was so horrible the salsa was old it was orange it didn't taste fresh it was disgusting and then when I got my food my husband's was horrible I didn't eat it but he said it didn't taste good he ate like five bites my chicken chimichanga had old dried meat inside of it I ate about a third hoping it would taste better as I went it never did it was horrible nobody ever came back to the table and asked us how was everything and then when my husband went to pay the guy at the register never said how was everything like they used to they just don't care anymore and I told him this is the last time we're coming here and he looked at me and smiled and shook his head and then I said cuz the food gets worse every time and he just looked at me in pulled up face and we left never asked us anything about it he didn't care that's their problem they just don't...

Food was delicious as always. Our server was lousy. We ordered and watched several people before us get their food. No big deal, as they had a speedier server. Not a problem, until our server brings our check over and says have good day. Chubby girl that I am, I yell as he is walking away, We haven't gotten our food yet. So he's gone just a second and comes back with the food. Then we don't see him again except I look up as he is pouring a beer out of a bottle into a glass and chugging it. Meal was abismal. I have never in all of my years eating Mexican food been so taken back by a cheese enchilada. This was made with a flour tortilla that's cheese was rolled up in and some type of flavorless red sauce poured over it. Typically enchiladas are corn tortillas that are coated with sauce, cheese mixture rolled in the center, placed into a baking dish, baked and served with sauce and melted cheese. Never had them any other way in any true Mexican restaurants. Maybe they could look up some new recipes or get a new cook. Beans were runny and flavorless. Rice was flavorless also. Very disappointed and won't be returning. Service and atmosphere were nothing remarkable. Certainly not worth the money spent.
