Applebee's Grill + Bar — Restaurant in Sequim

We were on a travel schedule, and had the need to feed this Sunday afternoon in Sequim around 3:30 pm. We were craving a good burger, and decided on the Applebee's right off the main highway. Just another chain joint, right? We caught them right at their shift change, so it's easy for things to fall through the cracks...but didn't. The staff were great hosts and the service was on the ball the whole time. My wife had the mushroom swiss burger, and LOVED it. It was exactly what she was looking for! Just the right amount of juices, the onions were perfectly sauteed (having that crispness yet tenderness), same for the mushrooms, it was awesome. I had the Prime Rib Dipper (heh), and I was kinda blown away. Again, the prime rib was excellent, it was an amazing play on a cheesesteak sandwich. The onions were exactly how I like them, the meat moist and tender, the au jus tasted authentic and not like bouillon cube. The fries with both dishes were excellent, right to spec and really well executed. The green salad was crisp and the blue cheese was really satisfying. Lastly, the margarita was very good, well made and just right to go with the meal. Has it's own take on the lime-bite balance and liked it. We had an ideal meal when we needed it, very satisfying and we felt it was good value. The staff had a remarkable energy and made it all happen. The cooks really shone today, and honestly, this meal changed my expectations of what Applebee's has to offer when run with staff & esprit like this. We're looking forward to...

Sean was absolutely amazing and adapting to making sure I got exactly what I wanted. I changed my mind and he got it right. He was very attentive and brought drink refills and sauces.

Carl was my back waiter and just got all kinds of little odds and ends that I needed to make it just right. He brought a good steak sauce and extra napkins and just very pleasant and

the place was really clean but I have to give it a shout out to the cook Brandon, who gave me the best steak I've had in decades. I just cannot tell you how tender and succulent and perfectly medium rare he had cooked the 6 oz sirloin. Take a look at the picture.

It's great. I had a sides of famous mashed potatoes and I had a side salad which was awesome and then I also got an additional side of onion rings. But I really really enjoyed the Asian wonton tacos WOW appetizer. I keep forgetting that I was only one person tonight. Ordered too much.

It was just a lot of food so I have some to take home. But I have to say it was all just an amazing experience hereTonight.

You got to come. This Applebee's is a destination for me. This is in sequim. I live in Rockport Mt Baker and Everett, stopping lots at AB's in Mt Vernon I also visit family at Bellingham and we always go to Applebee's but among the high caliber that Applebee's consistently gives us -- This is the tops. Today I traveled 110 miles to end up here. Wonderful experience to end the day.

First off, the server we had was VERY nice! BUT, he was kind of a space case. Asked for no tomatoes on my burger, I got tomatoes. Asked for tarter sauce, never came and I had to remind him. Asked for napkins, never got them.

Also the game system on the table died while my 9 year old was playing when we first sat down, server got us a different one, that one was broken and touch screen didn't work besides it being very very dirty. 3rd times a charm lol

Now the food...

First round of drinks were bad because the syrup was out and that happens, I get it. But it took them a noticable amount of time to get us new drinks and after we told the server the drinks were bad, he just left them on our table. 🤷

My son's burger was just fine, but he got 9 french fries....yes, 9.....on the plate. My burger came with 15! Little middle school lunch style fries...yuck. The bacon burger I got was honestly something that I could have made in my kitchen, not the restaurant style burger one would expect.

Wife got a crispy chicken Cesar salad. Chicken was good but the lettuce was soggy and blah... Didn't finish it.

Also got mozzarella sticks that were not even hot, just warm so the cheese was hard to chew. ONION RINGS, under cooked. Need I say more.

The place was NOT busy whatsoever so no excuse there. Needless to say we will not be going back to this...
