I really want to leave 5 stars, but on comparing ross of silverdale to sequim ross just doesnt stay stocked. There are often empty shelves and the housewares isle needs to be expanded. The art supplies need to expand, as well as bakingwear, and kitchen items, and things like cotton beddings, real wool rugs etc would be nice. Ross used to be where I could find some higher end merchandise for cheap, but now it doesnt hold a candle to TJ Maxx. They also dont mark down items like they used to, it seems for 6 months Ive seen the same 6 boxes of utensils on the shelves and theyre still 20 bucks for a service of 4. Definately check everything with best by dates. If you are stuck shopping on the peninsula its an ok option, whats not decent is all the shoplifters. Close to Christmas my husband and son were almost bowled over at the front door by a fleeing shoplifter and they dont even bother calling the cops anymore. Which invites more problems because they dont bother with accountability or tresspassing people. In all the times Ive shopped at the silverdale ross not one time have I seen a shoplifter. And its a bigger city. So far as safety goes, they need to be informing law enforcement of criminal activity. Also, their carts dont go into the parkinglot, which when outfitting a house and kitchen got ridiculous when I bought all stainless pots and pans and some bakeware. Heavy. I have 3 children and had to juggle an entire cart full of items out, with lifting limitations and thats RIDICULOUS. CARTS are meant to help get items to your car, and thats corporate idiocy for you. So if you are there for light one piece at a time shoppping, have a blast. If you actually need to shop its not conveinient, safe, stocked or simple. And it definately isnt senior friendly for the fact the carts cannot be taken outside and rarely do they offer a hand out even if its painfully obvious the cart was...
Read moreToday I went out shopping and got a look at the impact covid 19 has had in my town. I was very disappointed, although not totally surprised, that our local JC Penny's has closed it's doors for good. With my only other option to find a pair of shorts being Wal Mart or Ross I opted for Ross. While our Ross store has never had a full store of merchandise I was shocked at how many shelves and racks were completely empty. I honestly thought they too were closing their doors. After asking a sales person I was relieved to hear that wasn't the case but they had had to trim down expenses. While I do understand this in theory it's hard for me as a consumer to understand when I am attempting to buy something I need. Fortunately i was able to find a pair of shorts that I think will look ok. ( I have to wait till I get home to try them on since they have closed using fitting rooms) The store while bare is clean, sales reps all friendly and I will certainly visit again. I was inclined to give a 3 star instead of 4 due to lack of inventory but in these times I think it's better to be grateful for what there was as well as the doors...
Read moreThis hurts because I really did love Ross a lot. On multiple occasions the women there had been rude and disrespectful to me, my 67 year old mother, and even my neighbor. One incident , my mother had purchased heels and walked out. The cashiers made inappropriate comments about her and what she bought without knowledge that I was her son and still in the establishment. My personal experience has been when I asked about a bigger size women's shirt for my wife's birthday and the lady told me "Maybe since you're a man, shop over in the mens section". I let that one go at the time yet on a separate juncture, the same women told me that I "Don't need to buy all the jackets" and "Save some for someone else". I bought three. I don't understand why they're so impolite. The managers need to hire their employees more carefully. My family who all shop at Ross at least once a week will not be going to this venue...
