I visited Mediterra today with two others in my party. I have been to Mediterra several times and have never had a terrible experience like I did today with a blonde server with short bangs. When we arrived it was very packed and my friend went and grabbed a table while the others went and ordered. A server approached my friend sitting at the table and told her she couldn’t sit there but would permit it since she had friends in line. She then went up to my friend again and accused my friend of lying and that she had no friends in line. My other friend in line with me went over to our friend to show this server that she did in fact have friends with her. After ordering, I went back over to my friends and this woman removed them from the table, even though we had a number for food and nobody was even waiting for a table. She then saw us standing there without a table and said “now you can sit back down.” At this point we didn’t even want to dine here, but we had already paid for our food. The food was good, but my one friend had burnt oat waffles. Overall, this was a terrible experience and insulting that she called my friend a liar. I am disappointed to have experienced this at one of my favorite restaurants...

Hi- I’m not one to normally write a review but I feel like it’s needed in this situation. I ordered the Gluten Free Oat Flour Pancakes which I got served cold and with a large piece of hair intertwined in it. When I brought it back up, I wasn’t apologized to and only offered to make another. I wasn’t a fan of it to begin with but having the hair added to it ruined my appetite for it regardless. Just was disappointed with how it was handled. Also, I went with 3 other friends and we were sitting at a large table with another group of 4 and we were specifically asked to go to the bar top table or somewhere else in the cafe. We said yes of course but then the “large” group came in and it was the same amount of people as us, 4. We were confused why we had to move when it was the same amount of people as us. My friend was still finishing her coffee from the cafe. I truly don’t like writing bad reviews but I was an excited customer and heard great things about Mediterra but wouldn’t drive 35 mins again to go there ever. I hope your...

I'm a big fan of Mediterra in general. Their baked goods are excellent, and their bread is absolutely fantastic (get it sliced for you!). I've also really enjoyed a good number of fresh food items I've gotten; the 7-grain porridge is wonderful for breakfast, and their other breakfast platters are pretty solid. I also enjoy their drinks. Service is great, restaurant has good atmosphere, and the location's also good. I can't recommend them highly enough.

UPDATE: I've had pretty good food all around from them, including their sandwiches. They used to have issues with sogginess due to the sandwiches being pre-made with sauce on the bottom. I've been eating only sandwiches from them recently and haven't seen the issue again. Didn't make a stink about it, but left a bit of review feedback they seemed to pick up. I really enjoy the ham sandwich and pimento cheese toastie, the latter's worthy of Mike...

This place would be right at home in San Francisco. Obviously commanding high prices for the area, they’re using and casually selling incredibly high quality and locally focused foods and ingredients galore here. The menu changes and is focused on a smaller amount of offerings to enable higher quality throughout that selection. That’s perfect. Nobody needs 50 options for breakfast. Recommend any sandwich with avocado or their myriad drinks. Service is slower because everything is made by hand, but don’t let this be a detractor at all. We waited maybe 8-9 minutes. Totally acceptable. Such a treat to see this pop into existence here, a well deserved taste of sustainable dining and shopping. From wines to pastas to sauces, cheeses
it’s like the fanciest little parts of a grocery store conveniently located on the main sewickley drag. Love it!

No matter if you go to Sewickley or their newest location in Mt Lebanon Mediterra cafe serves quality food with their renown artisan breads. Online advance ordering is available. You can order for both dine in or take out. Breakfast served until 1 pm and their French toast is literally worth a visit alone! They serve both sandwiches, salads, and pastries and even have a refrigerator for grab and go items. Gluten free and vegetarian options available. Enjoyed the eggplant sandwich with cheese paired with a cup of lentil soup that had chick peas and beets in a turkey broth. So good! Quality groceries are for sale from some of the finest vendors. Can be pricey but that's what you are paying for. They also sell their artisan breads by loaf or in rounds. Friendly and helpful customer service make you feel at home.
