Sunshine Café — Restaurant in Seymour

Update: Food was VERY basic. They seem to have forgotten what spices are. My partner got chili. Did not taste like chili. Didn't seem to have any chili powder or cumin in it. Very bland. I got spaghetti and it was watery. The sauce had always been thick and really good before. The "garlic" toast had no garlic anywhere.

Well the service has really gone downhill. The first several times I went was late afternoon and it was great. I have now gone a number of times in the day. Sometimes it's fairly busy but mostly not. They can't seem to get the proper food to the table. I asked for blue cheese dressing and they bring me ranch. Or part of the order is completely missing. We had not been there for a while and thought we would try it again. It was a really great place when we first started going there.

I asked for a dish that was listed on the kids menu and was told OUR POLICY IS TO NOT SERVE OFF THE KIDS MENU TO AN ADULT! First they are a restaurant whose BUSINESS is to serve FOOD! Not judge my age!!! I WAS told I could get it for CARRY OUT tho! I was not allowed to order what I wanted to order. I was sick that day and it was the only thing that sounded like I could eat it. Since they wouldn't serve me, I had to sit and watch everyone else eat! I thought a restaurant was there to serve and SELL FOOD!

The servers never check back to see if everything was OK. I have to get their attention then they act like I am a nuisance or that they are doing a big favor. They don't seem to have these problems at night.

Everything I have eaten there has been very good. Service is great. I drive about 25 minutes from my home to eat here. There are plenty of places closer to me but I like being able to sit and enjoy my meal in a...

Updated: 6/2022 - ordered the liver and onions. It came out in a pool of blood. Second time, it was super tough and the mashed potatoes tasted like fish. I ate my green beans and my husband's toast and was done. Two stars for the server trying keep up. We will not be back anytime soon.

Oh my gosh if you go away hungry from this place it is your own fault! They have grea specials that include: Tuesday night 50% off for Seniors (age 62 and up) from 4 - 9 p.m! Or Thursday BOGO Spaghetti feom 11 a.m. - 9 p.m.

The chicken n dumplin soup is super thick and yummy. That alone is a meal! The potato soup is thick and chunky as well. Pork chops are grilled and awesome. The beef and noodles, HUGE serving!

OVERPRICED, LESS THAN AVERAGE-BAD. One of the worst breakfasts we've had. This place has truck parking and is open 24 hrs. So 2 stars for that. NOT very friendly service. She was GRUMPY AND ACTED LIKE WE WERE BOTHERING HER JUST BY SITTING DOWN.

I ordered fried eggs SOFT, they were HARD. Husband ordered his hard, NOT ME.

The pancakes tasted like a CHEAP STORE BOUGHT MIX WITH WATER ADDED. NOT FLUFFY BUTTERMILK PANCAKES. FLAT, TASTELESS. WAFFLES THE SAME BUT HARD AND INEDIBLE.
