I pulled up to the drive through and the employee shoved the card reader in my face and says in a defensive tone"are you going to tip?" Offended I said "no". Sulky employee pulled back inside and shouted no tip! The other employees all turned and glared. Mind you, I hadn't even paid nor gotten my order of latte, sandwich and scones. Another name for tip is gratuity. Gratitude for service over and above what the employee agreed to work for when they are hired. To ask for a tip before service is given is rude, gauche, and unforgivable. I want to add that I wasn't secure in thinking my order was not tampered with. Starbucks also has a new policy where baristas can not give out free water or ice cups, which is the reason behind them not giving the man who wrote a review the cup. This Starbucks has a very diverse crew, I doubt it was racism. This Starbucks is the only one I come to. I’ve come in the morning and evening, I have never once has a bad experience. Some baristas are more quiet than others, but that is absolutely not a problem to me. My matcha latte tastes like a cup of warm milk (I cannot have milk, I ordered oat milk and they gave me pale, mint green milk) One of my lattes last week was so burnt there was slimy brown stuff rising to the top.
