A Comprehensive Review of McAlister's Deli in Shawnee
Overall Impression: McAlister's Deli offers a high-quality dining experience, standing out for its excellent cuisine and service in Shawnee. While the establishment excels in its core offerings, prospective diners should be aware of a few logistical considerations.
Strengths: Exceptional Customer Service: The staff provides a welcoming and attentive experience. I was greeted warmly upon arrival and received multiple check-ins at my table throughout my meal. The team projects a positive and professional demeanor, contributing significantly to the pleasant atmosphere. Food and Beverage Quality: The menu offerings are well-executed. The McAlister's Club sandwich was prepared to a high standard, with the honey mustard serving as a perfect complement. The signature sweet tea is a particular highlight and is strongly recommended. Furthermore, the side dish of potato salad was both fresh and flavorful. Ambiance: The restaurant's interior is thoughtfully designed. Ample lighting and an uplifting color scheme create a bright, clean, and comfortable environment for dining.
Points of Consideration:
Location and Accessibility: The deli is situated near the busy intersection of Kickapoo and 45th Street. During peak traffic hours, navigating entry and exit from the property can be challenging. Parking: The dedicated parking lot is compact. The spaces are arranged closely together, which may be an issue for larger vehicles or during high-volume periods. Facilities: The restroom facilities are functional but modest in size, with a limited number of stalls and sinks. This could lead to wait times during peak business hours. Price Point: The menu is priced at a premium for the deli category. A full meal consisting of a sandwich, a large side, and a beverage amounted to nearly $17. For a more budget-conscious option, the restaurant offers a "Choose 2" combination for approximately $9.
Conclusion: McAlister's Deli provides a very enjoyable dining experience that I would highly recommend. While considerations such as price and accessibility exist, the superior quality of the food and the outstanding level of service establish it as one of the premier casual dining options in Shawnee. I look forward to a...
Read moreYo this Shawnee McAlister’s team did a great job today!!! Thank you for the service I received over the phone and during the pick up process. Now do me a favor... I need you to stick your arm out and pull it over your shoulder to give yourself a pat on the back, you deserve that!
Side note to corporate the website has too many steps to enroll for online ordering. As you might know times are hectic during moving situations and are typically down to the wire with how much time you have to spare. And not to mention kids and pets and all yours and families belonging box up or whatever allll over the place. Personal belongings are heavy!!!
You burn a lot of energy when you move from one home to another. We understand that food gives you energy and when folks run low on energy they turn into Betty White’s lol lol lol so what I’m saying is we need food fast sometimes when you haven’t planned well or everything is packed or you can’t stop everything and take the help and all the family out to eat.
Real life situation today. We seriously didn’t have time to waste and I had spent way too much time trying to figure out the online ordering process, ugh!!! is how I felt. So I gave up trying to register my account and called the deli to be greeted by Alison, who did a fantastic job.
The deli really tried to hold policy and explained how the large order I wanted to place was more along the lines of catering and would take 90 minutes or more. I explained our situation and why we needed the 14 sandwiches not expecting leadership to do anything but they did and came through for all of us and the friends we helped move in 30 minutes! Such a blessing!!! You...
Read moreWent on the 24th of May to eat dinner, we ordered our sandwiches salads and a soup. The other for times was a alright experience; except on this day. After we ordered we sat at one of the few clean tables. The staff wasn't doing what they were hired to do in any of the departments. Dining area had dirty tables that wasn't being cleared off or wiped off, floor was nasty. For having very few customers I feel they could've been cleaning the dining area, but instead a young girl around highschool age was flirting and talking to a young guy that looked like he was working kitchen area, neither doing what they were getting paid to do. Found that unprofessional and insult to owners of company. Then when our food came out the sandwiches had no condiments on them, no vegetables, and was cold when they should've been at minimum only warm. They brought a full dinner salad out (which we never ordered) when we ordered a little side salad that comes in a small bowl. This experience has me not wanting to go back. McAlister's my advice is to make sure the staff you hire don't have high estrogen and testosterone issues and make sure they're not lazy and know how to do their job you hired them to do and definitely make sure they're not more worried about being on the cell phones. I refused to use the restroom after seeing a dirty and nasty dining area so I can't give an honest review on that part just guessing it was...
