I never thought it could be possible to beat the original Mclains in Waldo, but I personally like this one even more! Ill get into the negative first (there isint much): The music is a tad bit loud, and at certain parts of the building there is a small draft. Now for the good: There is an INCREDIBLE amount of space in here and tons of seating. Perfect for remote work or work dates or any kind of gathering. There is even a little nook in the corner where you can have some nice privacy to get work done.

Wifi is blazing fast, I almost got about 400mpbs and there was no slowdowns.

The food and baked goods are on par with the original mclains, everything is super delicious and well made!

Best part though is the people: The baristas are all incredibly friendly, helpful, and they seem trained extremely well. Lots of personality behind the counter, and it makes the experience great instead of good!

I gave it 5 just bc everything was so on point, but again the minor changes would be lowering the background music a bit (i felt like it would drown out conversation) and there are some slight drafts that come in.

Amazing experience! Will be...

Best coffee and pastries around! Looking for great food and even better service? Then eat here. The people here are some of the best human beings I have ever had the pleasure of working beside. I've had just about everything on the menu, and I don't have a single complaint about the food or service. Everything besides the baked goods is made to order, so the drive-thru line tends to get congested when people order more than pastries and coffee. Management is great, but the HR side of things is honestly quite lackluster. I had to fight for the benefits I was promised, got them a month late, then I was laid off without warning due to reduction in workforce. When I came in for my shift the morning after that phone call (my last day,) someone else was already there doing my job because management assumed I wouldn't show up for some reason, even though I had been a dependable worker for the duration of my employment. That felt like a slap in the face. Aside from that, I would still recommend working here if you're job hunting. The friendly people here care about each other, which makes for a welcoming...

I've never tried their food but their bakes goods and coffees are delicious. Price for a coffee is fairly reasonable for what I would expect from a place like theirs. I only wish they had more flavors to add. Their cookies are also a good price for the size and the delicious flavor. I would definitely suggest the chocolate snickerdoodle. I'm not big on cake pops but theirs are the best and the only ones I've tried that I will go back for more. Seriously melt in your mouth. I love going to them when I need a nice dessert gift because I know they have beautiful desserts. You just have to get there early bc you know they are gonna be picked thru as I'm sure others feel the same and they are only human and baking these goods from hand so there is only so much they can make. Seems from some of these other comments others expect them to be mass producing these goods or putting less effort in their quality in order to make more. It should say something about their greatness that they...

McLain's has dedicated parking, and a drive through. They have accessible parking, a semi-accessible entrance, and the restrooms are less than accessible. They have patio seating. They are following COVID protocols pretty well. There are plenty of grab-and-go options, you can order food to-go, opt to purchase from the drive-through, or dine in. There is a lot to choose from their bakery cases, as well as espresso brewed in-house. I think my favorite thing about this place is the option for tap or sparkling water at no charge! I had a turkey sandwich during my visit and I wasn't that impressed. The bread was toasted in a way that was slight and honestly gave it the texture of being dry and stale, which was really a disappointment for me since it's a bakery. Once before I have been there, used the drive through to order a latte. It was tasty. I'll go back and I expect to have a much better experience the next time. McClain's has an excellent reputation in KC.

This Mcclain’s is a fast paced environment and lots of people love to come here for a spot to enjoy coffee or a meal. The staff are very kind and helpful! There are times that the noise levels get loud mixed with the music (so if you’re looking for a quiet place to work/study, just bring some headphones!) It is also a little chilly inside so bring a jacket! If you are looking for a place to meet friends and enjoy some pastries then this is a great option for you! Their coffee is superb though their add ins are a little expensive BUT it’s because most things are made in house (flavor wise I’ve heard, don’t shoot the messenger if I’m wrong).
