The Big Biscuit — Restaurant in Shawnee

One star solely for the service being atrocious. The food is always good, but every time we go here, the service is poor. I will say, servers are nice. Just extremely lazy. Today was the worst. Started out with a waitress that shouted at us from across the restaurant if we wanted coffee. I then hadn’t immediately poured myself a cup, so she was going to take my mug away. When taking our order, I asked for chicken strips with BBQ sauce. This restaurant apparently doesn’t have BBQ which I have never heard of a restaurant not having that. So I opted for a burger with mayo. Waitress returned with our order (my burger had no Mayo even though I asked) & never came back. Never asked us for refills. Or even gave us the coffee pot refill she said she was going to. Instead, all of the servers stood at the counter for ten minutes just talking and laughing. We then caught our waitress and the oldest waitress playing ROCK PAPER SCISSORS to come and continue serving us. The oldest waitress then was our new server apparently. She gave me a refill by pouring unsweet tea directly into my sweet tea. Walked away before my boyfriend could ask for water & I could ask for napkins. We then didn’t see her again until she took our plates away about fifteen minutes after we were done eating. She asked us if we wanted to go drinks to which my boyfriend said he would like a coffee to go. The waitress then returned with the check without his to-go coffee. The only saving grace was the young male waitress that rushed out after us when my boyfriend forgot his phone at the table. I wish he had been our server instead of the two ladies that clearly...

Really disappointed. My husband and I came here for a nice hot fresh breakfast and about 10 minutes after ordering, Our food came out already ready which we thought was strange, There's No way it could have been made fresh and been done already, The sausage came out and was rubbery and kind of hard, Our biscuits were hard and also our bacon was like a straight stick, Confronted the manager about this and he apologized and made it right with us but also even said the look of the food was totally disappointing. This was a couple hours before they closed so I think they just didn't want to bother with making fresh food, So they just warmed up what they had and called it a day. I was super disappointed because the waiter didn't bother to look at the food and you could definitely tell by looking at it, or she did look at it and just didn't care. My husband and I were just trying to enjoy the meal the best we could and the waiter kept walking by us and tried sweeping directly under our table by our feet and was singing loudly and obnoxiously and she was also talking to another worker across the restaurant gossiping loudly about another employee and the phone rang and I guess the person had the wrong number and she got off the phone and was complaining about people having the wrong number. I'm not sure of her name but she had kind of short dirty blonde hair, Probably early 20's and fairly skinny and short. Bottom line is, I'm really disappointed in the whole entire experience and next time I'll drive the extra miles to visit a different location. This location is filled with pure laziness from the cooks...

This was my first time visiting this big biscuit, but my second time ever and I want to say this location blew me away with its food and service.

First they do allow call ahead and online reservations through the yelp app and I highly recomend making a reservation this location gets busy. Avg wait is about 20-45 min. They do have open seating at their Cafe bar.

Onto the food, I rate 1-10, 10 being the best I'm sure we have different taste buds but hopefully this helps.

Bacon- 8 a little to crispy but the taste was on point.

Pancakes were on point cooked fantastically and tasted great both with and without syrup. 8 out of 10

The eggs had just enough seasoning . 9 out of 10.

Hash browns were medium cooked they lacked flavor until I added ketchup 6 out of 10.

The potatoes were crisp and seasoned just right, i very much recommend these over the hash browns when choosing a potatoe side. 9 out of 10.

French toast had a hint of nutmeg or gingerbread I couldn't quite nail the taste otherwise a little heavy on the butter. An 8 out of 10.

Bonus for anyone who is not sure what I'm talking about its a mix between a donut, funnel cake and a biscuit. was a little disappointing it lacked flavor even with it being buried in powdered sugar and...
