I'll start by saying, " Oh hell yes we'll be back!"
We drove just short of two hours to try their dairy free dessert, and it was worth every mile. In the words of the Proclaimers, I would drive 500 miles for the Allergy Free Bakerys sweets and more (their exact lyrics, trust me, look it up)! We pulled into the parking lot at 4:56 p.m., 4 minutes before closing, and the really cool guy behind the counter was so gracious. I wish I would have got his name so I could give him a thumbs up and an at-a-boy but I didn't, derp! So I shall refer to him as Todd, no reason, Todd just popped into my head!
We went with the thought of getting a few cookies for our milk intolerant son. I thought I might get a cookie or something small for myself, you know, counting calories and all that. So 15 minutes later, we walked out with a bag full of cookies, bagels, biscuits, and a bowl of vanilla soft serve oat milk ice cream!
The ice cream has this hard to describe natural, lightly, earthy flavor that is fantastic. I know that's not the most promising sounding description, but trust me, or don't, but just try it!
The sugar cookies are so sweet, I can't wait to drown them in a glass of almond milk!
The biscuits aren't heavy, he's my brother! Not sure why that popped in my head! But really, their not heavy! A little dense (like my ex brother-in-law) but perfect on the side of a bowl of soup or chili!
And the bagels! I LOVE BAGELS! Todd, you remember him, said they have a variety of toppings but I was like, "Whoa Todd, no toppings". Never should a bagel be desicrated with add on "toppings"! I tried the everything bagel, plain bagel and the cinnamon raisin bagel. I LOVE THE ALLERGY FREE BAKERYS BAGELS!!!
Really though, the desserts are great, the breads are wonderful and the ice cream was a whole new experience that I really, really can't wait to try again! If your a long time vegan, dairy intolerant or just like cakes and cookies and bagels and cupcakes and... well you get the idea, give the Allergy Free Bakery a try!
OH! And I forgot the prices! This is not one of those places trying to roll bank on the health conscious, allergy sufferers, vegan lifestyle or those who just want a break from the normal cupcake. I like my money, I like my money almost more than bagels, but like I said, OH hell yes, we'll be back! (You can say that last part in...
Read moreBeing gluten and dairy free for over 10 years, I’ve tried countless baked goods/treats and most have missed the mark for me…most except Allergy Free Bakery. From the moment you walk in and staff greet you with a friendly hello, to the moment you walk out with a bag full of goodies- you will not be disappointed.
My wife and I have been coming here since the first day they opened and it’s quickly become part of our weekly routine. The routine where we tell ourselves ‘we really need to cut back’ and end up walking through the bakery door anyway. It’s hard to choose a favorite item because everything really is so delicious. I guess to name a few would be the cheesecakes, cinnamon rolls, quiche and brookie but the turnovers, cupcakes and bagels deserve mention as well (I’m still dreaming about a soft pretzel). There’s nothing better than being able to walk into a shop, not have to read ingredients or ask about cross contamination...but to be able to have ANYTHING- Pair that with the incredibly friendly staff and it’s a dream come true.
I truly cannot say enough good things about the staff. We’ve gotten to know them well over the past year and have even gotten to try out some new items (I’ll always be the guinea pig). I even planned a surprise Shrek themed birthday party for my wife and not only did they exceed expectations with the cake and gingerbread cookies-they shared my excitement which made her birthday that much more fun. If you’re searching for a family/community oriented business to support, stop here. I promise you’ll leave happy.
Thank you for all that you do and we look forward to trying all that you...
Read moreWe live in Rochester but have been coming to the Allergy Free Bakery since its open ending, as often as we can, and we are hooked! Our second son is egg/peanut/tree nut, and finding safe options for him that actually tasted good and felt good has always been a challenge, but not anymore! We LOVE the treats here! All of our kids love the ice cream (I’m a bit addicted to it also, I must say!), the cookies are so delicious, the donuts are AWESOME and my personal favorite thing on the menu, aside from the coffees, that is! The girls have whipped up a random iced coffee surprise for me each time we have come and I am not even kidding when I say I dream about those coffees… usually containing brown sugar syrup, which is my new favorite flavor because of y’all! The cupcakes are good, the cinnamon rolls are great… honestly, we have been so impressed, and the staff is the sweetest part of it all! They are so kind, so giving of their time, and you can tell they have a passion for what they are doing! We have chatted with both owners, and countless other employees, and the team is just an absolute pleasure to meet. We are excited for many future visits and shared sweet memories! Thank you for opening this fabulous place, and for...
