As a frequent escape player, I was really let down by this place. I will say my reasoning why. -when you walk in, the lobby, bathroom, briefing room is amazing. It feels top notch and fancy but it fooled me. The room we did was very much underwhelming. Just one big room. With such an amazing entrance I thought the escape room would be great too. -we didn’t escape our room. when our game master came to get us, she mentioned they have the hardest games in the area. this didn’t sit right with me for a few reasons. the room we did was listed as a beginner/intermediate room. I came with friends who had never done a room before thinking it’d be beginner/intermediate. apparently it’s in the 30s for an escape percentage. also, their clue giving system is flawed. you have to hold up an item to a camera and wait 30 seconds-1 minute while they type out your clue. they don’t stop the time while doing so. so you’re standing there doing nothing while waiting on a clue. Our game master also gave us the incorrect clue a couple of times, leading her to have to have us wait again while she typed out the correct clue (they have a way to talk into the room the whole time lol) I was mainly fooled by this place due to the 5.0 rating. Their lowest review is a 3 star review, so I thought this place must be great. Turns out on the way out, they say they’ll give you money off of another room if you leave a good review. $15 I believe? To me that’s not honest :/ Lengthy review but they need to hear it imo. We were overall not pleased with our experience,...
Read moreToday was my 2nd visit to Xtreme Escape, we did the Mardi Gras room. My group and I found the staff to be short handed which meant the call button wasn’t acknowledged promptly nor reliably. Furthermore the room was quite cryptic. Being seasoned players at other centers, we find our coach being rude whereas typically coaches will hint or guide players. Our coach spent a great deal of time ignoring our call button and scolding us for trying the wrong keys in the wrong places. It happened 4 times with the last scolding including “the rules were discussed prior” “no key should be used more than once”. The person who started our session admitted to not being super familiar with our room and nobody ever told us one key works in multiple locks but should not be attempted in more than one lock. The tone and lack of support was appalling. I wish we had our $140 back because that business doesn’t deserve the patronage. Will never go back.
Adding to my above review, my grandson spoke of our experience as being upset that someone would treat his grandma (me) in such a horrible way. He didn't understand why the employee didn't realize not everyone can see well (I have very limited vision) and why was being rude appropriate for something that was supposed to be fun. He never wants to return to that...
Read moreMy coworkers and I had a lot of fun here at Xtreme escape rooms! It was all of our first times and our coach Eli was extremely helpful at getting us through it. He explained all the rules, got us in the room and let us do our own thing till we decided it was time for hints. Every time we were close but not quite there, his hints got us to exactly the solution we needed to move on! One of our devices died and when he realized it he stopped the timer and come in to fix it immediately, keeping our game moving forward. The room was mixed with some easier puzzles and some that definitely took quite a bit of thinking to get to the next clue. We definitely recommend at least 4-6 people for patient zero room, and spread out but work together to get through it, collect everything and don’t be afraid to ask for clues, your coaches are there for a reason! Do recommend for a small party of up to 12, and hope you get Eli as you coach cause he was great and made sure our first time was one...
