Visited the restaurant on their 2nd or 3rd day of being opened! There are definitely some kinks to be worked out, so I will not be harsh in my review!
I loved the ambiance and the small changes made to the layout as I was a frequent patron of the previous vendor.
We were seated immediately! I am not sure why we were offered a booth for 5-6 people and it was only 2 of us. We asked if we could sit at the tabletop. She allowed us to sit there!
We were given food menus and water. But nothing was handed to us for alcoholic beverages, so we were puzzled. We have never heard of this restaurant, just excited to try the new restaurant in our old spot! So we started googling to see if they had a drink menu.
Our waitress comes to the table to take our order. I asked if they could make a mojito, she said I guess. Then my friend stated we see beer tabs and liquor bottles so I am assuming you can make specialty drinks. She was like, sure did you not get a drink menu. She handed us one.
She gave us a minute and we ordered a white gummy martini. It was delicious and a must order.
As for the food, I asked our waitress what would she recommend. She was clueless! She was sweet and hospitable, but knew nothing about the menu and couldn’t recommend or sell me anything. I loved her personality, so I will give her A+.
We had the Firecracker Shrimp, Shrimp Tacos and the Margherita Pizza. Both of the shrimp meals were great. However, the pizza cook needs more training. The flavor was good, but the middle was soggy and the entire pizza fell apart as you tried to get a slice. We at the ends like breadsticks.
The female that delivered our food, needs more training on food delivery. When she delivered the food and as she sat the plate down of shrimp tacos and fries, majority of the fries fell on the table. She kind of froze up, not knowing what to say or do. She left and never came back or offered more fries.
Our waitress passed by us and asked what happened, we told her and she cleaned up the spilled fries.
On a side note, it appeared that everyone that was seated at the high top table, when food was being delivered it went to the wrong person more often than not. You had to watch for your food. Our food went to the wrong people and I had to speak up.
Once the kinks are worked out this place will be a success! I will visit again in...
Read moreDecided to try somewhere new prior to the football game and here’s how it went!
The interior is very modern with a plethora of decorative lighting, and with an open and airy concept. Definitely seems like a great place to watch a football game with many tv’s and blue ambient lighting. Our server who I believe was Jenni was fantastic as well.
For our appetizers we opted for the Steak Bites cooked rare, and of course we couldn’t pass up the Brussels Sprouts. I loved the presentation of the Brussels Sprouts but not as much as I loved eating it. Their Sprouts are shaved and crispy and the sauce tied the dish together so well. The Steak Bites were cooked as requested and were of great quality. However, it felt like something was missing. There was a lack of seasoning and the sauce was a bit bland. We added some salt which helped tremendously, but regardless with or without added salt the dish was enjoyable.
I opted in for the Mascarpone Mushroom Pappardelle which was a crowd favorite. I loved the edible flower petals used for garnish, and the sauce was so rich and flavorful. Super filling so no need to add any meat if you’d prefer not to, you’ll still be leaving satisfied. The Stuffed Fiocchetti and Forest Chicken were also ordered and enjoyed by all.
As great as everything was, the real star of the show were our desserts. Who doesn’t like a little something sweet after a good meal? We tried the Warm Chocolate Cookie with Ice Cream, and the Fried Cheesecake which was also accompanied by even more Ice Cream. Both desserts absolutely floored us. I would consider coming back just for dessert. We are all truly blown away on how outstanding they both were, it’s impossible to pick a favorite. No matter how full you might be, don’t pass up the opportunity.
Overall it was a great experience and I can definitely see myself coming back for one of the playoff games coming up. The ambience, the food, drinks, and service were all above average and at a reasonable price point as well....
Read moreUpon entering the establishment my husband and I were greeted by 2 hostesses. It took them about 5 minutes to figure out seating (no big deal on a Saturday night; pretty quick actually).
After being seated we were immediately greeted and handed waters. We started with the cheese curd app. The jalapeño aoli was something we looked forward to. Unfortunately, we did not taste any jalapeño or any kind of spice in the sauce. Overall, the app was tasty though.
Our main dish order consisted of steak tacos and chicken scallopini. The steak tacos were delicious, again not too much spice but all the veggie additions aided in the yummy flavor. The salsa given with my chip side was very bland, not even considered mild in spice.
My husband had the chicken scallopini. It looked beautiful, but the taste was less than average. The chicken tasted like it was very frozen and partially thawed before it was cooked. Again, the veggies within the dish help aide in boosting up the overall taste. He debated sending it back because of how disappointed he was in the overall flavor, but instead ate about half of it. A couple next to us said “there must be a lot of oil in your dish the food is glistening all over from here!”. This dish would suit the average bland palate.
For dessert, we had deep fried cheesecake. Beautiful presentation! This dish should really come with a knife though as the outside deep fried wrapper (comparable to that was baklava) that the cheesecake is in, was very difficult to split with just a spoon. Overall, the flavor of this dessert hit the spot to ‘wrap’ up our night!
The service I would say was average. There was no recommendations given on food or drinks and no personality given to us from our waiter. He did not get any of our order wrong and he brought everything in a timely manner, which is...
