Where do I start...we went to this place because they were supposed to have the best chicken in Shelton, fail. Walked in the place and the whole bar stopped talking and turned to stare at us like we had horns. We walked to a table to look at a menu, ouch, way over priced! For the smallest chicken breast, thigh, leg and wing I have ever gotten from a chicken place, it was $9.50. If you have ever had the little chicken wings at pizza Hut, then imagine the little baby chick who gave up those wings, was the same chicken Bob uses. The cliche waitress ran over to kick us out, until we proved, with ID, that my husband was 38 and NOT under 21. She took our to go order at 6:10 and we did not get our chicken until 7:00! Got home, 15 minutes away and the chicken was already cold. No breading on the chicken at all, it was chewy, overcooked, and cold. The grease used to fry it in was burnt. Warning, don't eat/buy this chicken, Fred Meyer has better chicken at better reasonable prices, and I don't even like the Fred Meyer chicken!
Oh yeah, forgot to mention our waitress came out to tell me food was almost done while SHE WAS EATING. She put her hand up over her mouth a little to keep food from spitting out at me WHILE SHE TALKED WITH HER MOUTH FULL OF FOOD! I am not lying, it really happened just like I said! Also, not gay friendly at all. Had several patrons stare at us the whole 55 minute we wasted...
Read moreI’ve been hearing about this place for a while now in regards to how good the chicken is so on a trip through the area I decided to stop and get dinner.
The beer/cider selection is pretty decent and we had a few during our meal.
For food, I ordered the Chicken and Jo-Jo’s and my wife ordered the chicken strips and fries and both came out relatively quick.
My order of the Chicken and Jo-Jo’s was massive and included 5 monster sized Jo-Jo’s and 4 pieces of chicken. The Jo-Jo’s were cooked perfectly, but didn’t have much flavor or seasoning to them. The chicken was decent and definitely better than your normal KFC, grocery store deli, etc but was definitely lacking in flavor too. The batter was nice and light but the best thing it has going for it was that it wasn’t cooked in old fry oil, but it could be taken to a whole different level if they only incorporated a little seasoning into the batter.
The chicken strips and fries were more of the same, cooked well but overall pretty bland all on their own.
The absolute star of the show and the saving grace of the meal was the house made (?) ranch dressing. It helped rescue the whole meal and honestly if they sold it to go, i would have bought a bottle.
Overall it was a decent experience and if I was passing through town at meal time again, I would stop in but I wouldn’t make a special trip out of...
Read moreWent there once, won't return. Just wanted a beer and to play some pull tabs. They must have served the entire bar 3 times and we're headed into round four before I said something. At which point, I was basically informed I was not their priority. Screw that place and whatever the heck that was they think they rode in on. I will never return, and I will tell this to as many as I can for as long as I can. I will urge others to avoid this place like the plague. I already have directed many in other directions. And I have over 800k viewers here... That could hurt. You choose to treat customers like second class citizens? You'll get ugly reviews. If I could give this place a -0 I would. Don't forget to keep over serving your customers, I saw many, leave unfit to be driving. Your moment will...
