El-Canelo Mexican Restaurant — Restaurant in Shenango Township

A message to anyone that buys food from or eats at El Canelos in Shenango. I have bought the same thing the past 3 tuesdays 6 tacos at their "taco tuesday" price of 3 for 3 dollars and have been charged a different price every time. I always call my food in and pick it up to go and I always order 6 tacos. If my math is correct 3 tacos at 3 dollars a piece x 2 is 6 dollars + 36 cents for sales tax. My receipt i was charged (which coincidentally does NOT say what i bought on it only a total) came to 6.74 cent last time. The time before that it was over 8 dollars and 3 weeks ago was 7.50. Unless theyre charging for the tortillas they put in my bag which i dont ask for anyways they are ripping me off by making me pay more. If i order the same thing at the same price every tuesday the price should be the same. I will most likely buy the same thing this up coming tuesday and if the price is different this time I will question them about it. If you eat at this restaurant (the one in shenango) double check your bill. None of my receipts show the items i purchased ONLY a total. I just want to warn anyone eating there to double check your bill...

This placed used to be good, 4 years ago before they closed due to covid. Ingredient quality has gone down, beans are now watered down, salsa tastes like tomato puree, nothing is seasoned, mushrooms are not fresh, gauc is so dark i think its old or left out and there should not be that much oil in a meatless dish. To make matters worse there was a black hair under my tomato, i have never had to throw away so much food. Used to love this place, now i cant wait for it to shut down so something better can move in. No good restaurants in Shenango, dont believe the fake "guides". I live 5 min down the road, used to be our go to spot, now total trash. They have another location but we havent been there. Have been at the competing mexican restaurant out by walmart, also run. Will be traveling or cooking at home if we want proper mexican food. So...

Ordered take out. First thing I noticed is they gave me two bags with 6 different containers stacked on top of each other, the lids collapsed from the moisture and caused a HUGE mess ... and smushed food! I also had a few items missing! I’m not going to lie I was FURIOUS on how my food was packed! I called the restaurant and whoever I talked to acted as though he didn’t believe me and wanted me to take photos of everything... not that I had a problem with that it’s just I couldn’t believe it! I even told him I no longer want the sloppy mess and asked if I could bring it back “uneaten” for a refund ... he said NO! I just don’t see how this place has such high reviews because I personally don’t think the food is that great! IMO they don’t even...
