So I went a second time this month. This time I walked in and the place was empty other than the 3 or 4 employees. My wife and I noted that every (we checked) table was in need of cleaning, and the floor needed to be swept. We literally had to ask 3 times to have a booth cleaned and as I stood there watching I had to tell the young man to also wipe the benches. I was silently hoping he was going to wipe th back also given the current covid era, but no, neither did he sweep up the food or napkins under our table. Then I watched him, rag and spray bottle in hand, walk back behind the counter passing 3 other tables that he could and should have cleaned. I think they need a little manager interaction about cleanliness. Which make me wonder how clean the the food prep area is? Or the food as I saw nobody change gloves between handling money and food? Or the door handles, railings, all the things ppl are touching. This is my favorite place to eat in town, but I will not be going back until this changes. I am a person with a chronic health condition, and am immune comprised, if I had not been in Brookings, SD, as the area has a lower rate of infection, I would have just left. I dont think it's to much to ask to practice cleanliness, and have a clean dining area at a...
Read moreI came through a few days ago and got the kids meal. The guy who was finishing up orders continued to switch from grabbing food to touching the screen and handling money, to go right back to touching food-WITH HIS GLOVES ON THE ENTIRE TIME. I thought I seen it happening and then decided to stand there to watch. Yep, he took payments from customers then went right back to touching food. I got the attention of a lady who I seen worked there for some time. She apologized and asked if I wanted her to remake my order. I refused. She agreed and said that the guy does need to get new gloves when touching food and the handles on the scoops/utensils. I said he already contaminated the food so what's the point of remaking my order? She said he only touched the lettuce directly. She ended up refunding my money and insisting that she can remake it for me. I said no and kept the meal, minus the lettuce. I ate a portion of the meal and wish I hadn't. I was sick for 3 days, so it's likely I got food poisoning from there. Not returning...
Read moreMy son & I visit Qdoba quite often, sometimes twice a week for the Build your own rice bowl, & this is the 2nd time they've been out of Guacamole (no surprises there), & they were also out of the Cilantro Lime Rice, which I always get. Hardly put any steak tips in there, & when I asked for a little more she said she'd have to charge me double, & that she already put in a little extra, (which she didn't) but she gave my son extra shredded chicken. Hardly put any Cilantro in as well, just overall disappointed, this place seems to be going downhill fast. Also, had the nerve to charge more for a steak tip rice bowl. Come on Qdoba, this is getting ridiculous, start doing better. We want to continue coming there, but we expect a decent portion size...
