A lovely small-town restaurant that could easily be successful in a large city. Creative food, great service and an inviting atsmphere are hallmarks of the Shabby Shack Eatery.
REVIEW #1 (DINNER) - We were here for dinner on a Thursday night and ordered the Lobster Mac & Cheese (daily special) and the Horsey Brisket Tacos. Both were very good and much more than we could eat. I did find the Mac and Cheese a bit rich but was not surprised considering it is made with lots of cheese and large chunks of lobster. The tacos were very good although the horsey sauce was a bit overpowering. The Mac and Cheese included a salad which was simple but tasty (the huckleberry dressing were excellent)! We enjoyed a signature Bloody Mary and a local craft beer with our meals and left with a yummy dessert. We will definitely be back!
REVIEW #2 (BRUNCH) - We arrived a few minutes after opening (9am Sunday) and were lucky to get the very last seat. After our dinner here a couple weeks ago, we needed to go back for Brunch and it didn't disappoint. We ordered the Blueberry Lemon Waffle and the Peach Cobbler French Toast but knew we'd be sharing. Wow on both. The homemade Waffle was loaded with lemon curd and blueberry compote, needed little to no additional syrup (although 2 were offered). It included a healthy serving of scrambled eggs and 2 slices of bacon. The Peach Cobbler French Toast was a blend of cinnamon and Peach flavors and required no additional syrup. Between the 2 of us, we finished 1/2 of each, taking the remainder home with us.
REVIEW #3 (LUNCH) - Honey, stop the car! We stopped for an unplanned lunch when we drove by and found Shabby open. My hubby and I shared the Italian Boat sandwich (sorry, no pic). Wow! This is our favorite Italian sandwich ever and we have eaten Italian sandwiches in NY at the best delis. The bread was toasted and the homemade sauce delish. This is a winner. Note there was a $4...
Read moreMy first time at shabby shake was quite a sad letdown to say the least. My husband and I were very unhappy with the food and service especially after everyone and their uncle recommended it. After leaving a review we were contacted by the owner, Terra, who was so upset to hear of how we had been treated and how the food tasted that she offered a meal for both of us on her. She went the extra mile to bring us back and took our review to heart and fixed the issue. My husband and I were so impressed she reached out to fix the issue.
We went back today and I can say this the food was amazing (ok I think I may be a monkey burger adddict now... I'm dreaming of having another one) the service was above and beyond, water glass was never empty! The servers interacted with my children as well plus you can't go wrong with bendy straws! It was a full 180* from our last visit and a pure delight we enjoyed heartly.
We will be back again and can't wait to try all of the fun foods they make. (Monkey burger... weird combo that is pure heaven!) We are looking forward to the new menu items as well!!
(Honestly the fact the Terra was on top of it to make sure her restaurant is running at its top game is the main reason we tried it again! Owners of other restaurants/places of business take note this is how you fix issues and blow peoples minds. Watch your Google reviews and Facebook pages...this is how you run a...
Read moreJust had dinner here and was so impressed in many ways. First of all, our server Shay was absolutely delightful and was apparently the only server working tonight. She worked hard showing people to their tables, taking orders, and serving meals. She constantly checked back with patrons to see how they were doing. There were people sitting at several tables outside and Shay took care of them as well. At one point, it started to rain unexpectedly and Shay quickly moved everyone to tables indoors, all the while being incredibly sweet and polite.
Our meals were excellent. My husband had the Farmers Pizza and I had the Greek Tacos. Both dishes were cooked perfectly and SO full of flavor. The chicken in my Greek taco had some sort of wonderful seasoning. And my husbands pizza was exactly how he likes it…thin crust and cheesy with a definite wood fired flavor.
The chef, Cheryl, came out to check how everyone was doing. What an amazing gesture! She wanted to know first hand how the meals were. That’s the sign of a quality establishment that truly cares about customer satisfaction.
As I said, I was incredibly impressed with Terra’s and look forward to...
