Wanna Burger — Restaurant in Sherman

Wanna Burger? Not anymore. We had such high hopes for place, especially with all the great reviews. This was our first visit here and the last. Upon arrival the person that took our order was super friendly, repeated our order, and was happy to have first time guests. But then things went south. We’re pretty sure the people that ordered after us got our order, then we think after they remade our order they packaged it to go and it sat for a while. As we waited for our food we watched these nice looking plates with nice looking burgers come out. Burgers not wrapped in paper and smashed and I can only assume their sides were hot. Ours came out tossed on a plate, burgers wrapped in paper and smashed, onion rings and fries cold. They made fresh sides for us, but that just left us with either waiting and eating even colder burgers or eating the burgers then the sides later. My burger really didn’t taste very good almost like the BBQ sauce was bad and my burger was paper thin, was not expected that either. We spoke to the person (night supervisor) that took our order about the entire ordeal and how awful our food was compared to what we had seen. She said she would refund our money; she left, and then brought back a duplicate copy of the receipt with nothing on it showing a refund. Still haven't seen the refund, was told if it didn't show up to come back in and get the cash, yeah, no thanks. If a refund was issued my bank would have posted it. I guess she just wanted us to leave her alone. It's not really about the money, though it sucks paying for food and not eating it. Can’t even say they were having a bad day since everyone else’s food...

Update: the last 2 times have been a little disappointing. Today I ordered a chicken tender basket… and I got a little piece a chicken that’s even a chicken tender. The meal itself (no drink included) cost $10.99 I should at least get all the chicken. 2 weeks ago we ordered food over the phone and was RUSHED the girl kept saying “what else” after every time I would order a meal. I ordered all meals with drinks and she NEVER asked me what kind of drinks we wanted. So I asked her do you need my drinks? (I shouldn’t have to ask). I go to pick up the order and my order was wrong… food was missing and burgers were made wrong. Drinks weren’t even made…. I HAD TO MAKE MY OWN DRINKS. The guy at the front offered to make them but he was busy and the girl that took my order should’ve made them. I asked for her but was told she already left…I live 5 minutes away so she must’ve bolted out after taking my order. I was going to tell the owner (he walked in after me) but he looked frustrated because he had a leak in the dinning room he was trying to handle so I didn’t even bother. I wasn’t gonna leave this review because I wanted to give grace and try again but this chicken I received was not it.

I've been looking for a good hearty neighborhood greasy spoon since leaving California's A's Burgers but haven't had any luck until today. Awesome roadside style cafe with a good varied menu, the kids got some hot dogs sans house chili, hubby indulged in the outback burger, and I dove into a mushroom burger with a side of soup. Natural cut fries and soup was homemade bacon chedder potato... the entire table of six was silent, and I've got little little kids. Yup, even the baby was face first into his soup dipped toast. I have no idea how my guys burger was but I gather from the total lack of any food in face mashing disruption his was j just as good as mine. Super melty Swiss and a stupid awesome amount of grilled onions and mushrooms piled on a nummy beef patty omg I'm hooked for life. God bless you owners, whoever you are, I'm finally in my heart clogging heaven. Fyi they have grilled chicken burgers and decent chef salads made for adults who actually want to eat (and not pretend to be a teeny dainty bunny) but I'm probably never going to try them. Why when there's that much yum in a bun? Fyi it's not in the best of hoods, but everything's well lighted and it's clean/well maintained inside and out so I'm guessing the place is bringing the neighborhood up. Burgers...
