Gadwall's Grill is a little out of the way, if you are looking for a great place to eat. It's not on a major street or right at the perfect retail spot like the Sonics, Wendy's, KFCs, & trillions of McDonald's across America. BUT, I can assure you that if you Google Gadwall's, it will pop up. Then you just plug in the address, follow your phone's directions and you will see Gadwall's on a hill, in the small strip Mall in Sherwood at the intersection of North Hills and Hwy. 107/ JFK Blvd at the traffic lights. Look for the Christmas lights strung around the inviting wooden patio out front-- which would be a lovely place to enjoy your lunch sandwich, iced tea or cold cola in the lovely spring weather Arkansas has coming soon ☀️🦋🌷! We have been looking for a replacement for our beloved Luby's. A place to get home cooking, without wearing me out or leaving me with a big kitchen cleaning afterwards-- being disabled causes adjustments to life. Gadwall's Grill is a 30 year old establishment that is well known and well loved by the people of Sherwood since 1989! It's a hidden jewel of a place to eat any meal of the day! It also happens to be the first place in North Little Rock that we have found that lives up to our lofty goal! The vegetables were like I would have fixed at home, with the exception of seasoning. My husband & I ordered the chopped hamburger steak, topped with grilled onions. It comes with a slice of toasted, buttery Texas toast and 2 sides. For my sides, I chose green beans and mashed potatoes with brown gravy (white cream gravy is also available). My husband ordered a side salad with a baked potato. As an appetizer I ordered a small bowl of their cheese dip and chips. We ordered our hamburger steaks to be well done, no pink inside, and that's how they arrived. The steaks were smothered with lots of grilled onions. The sides were all very delicious, not overly done. They were under seasoned by salt and pepper, which is great for us, as the hubby is hypertensive, so both of us are used to little salt. Too much salt is inedible, but you can season food to your own taste. The salad was fresh, large, and good, served with dressing in a small cup on the side. The cheese dip was a delicious yellow type. The chips served in the basket were light, thin, crispy Cantina style, not greasy or oily at all! Very enjoyable, and unusual for restaurants dip chips. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal. We also watched as the owner and the table staff were very diligent about getting to new customers quickly, and checking back with the tables often to see if there were any more needs. Beers are also served as beverages. You're also going to enjoy Gadwall's Chili dogs and their homemade vegetable soup, with a slice of cornbread. Breakfast is served up on Friday, Saturday and Sunday mornings, until 10:30a.m. Then they close from 10:30-11:00a.m. those 3 days, to prepare food for the lunch crowd. Gadwall's is open 7 days a week until 9:00p.m. I hear that the breakfast served Chocolate Gravy, is to die for! Would like to try it, but may not be able to make it up there early enough to do so. My loss. I have yet to taste Chocolate Gravy! I am looking forward to a return trip to enjoy the bowl of soup and cornbread myself! I think you are going to enjoy this restaurant as...
Read moreWe got there were told to sit ourselves where we sat for 10 mins to be addressed about drinks, by what the server said he wasn't just helping "our" waitress. While waiting on our server, I watched a server use a towel from the prep table by the seating area to the right, to clean the floor of mess, just to return it to the prep table. I then watched another server wash her hands, dried her hands with the same towel that was used to clean the floor and pick it up to take it to wipe down a table. That is when I grabbed the server and told her what she was holding. She went and put it else where. I at this time have been sitting in this booth for over 30 mins without food.
I was there eating with my Family that had just left Baptist hospital in North Little rock, losing the matriarch of the family. Sad part is I was recommended by my family because I am from out of state. As my Brother in law went to pay for our ticket he mentioned the way we were ignored half the time, and waited too long for our food. He was meet with distain and continuous murmur as we walked out. About how he needed to go to church... If you have to use that line, call God. You had no idea OUR family just lost its Mother/ Grandmother. It still gave you NO RIGHT TO MOCK HIM. Is this how Gadwalls is supposed to be? I won't be back and neither will my family you humiliated, in...
Read moreYeah my supper was a double cheese burger, fries, a pickel, and large sweet tea. Extra ice. They make pretty good food. It hasnt disappointed me yet. They have pretty good service too i reckon. You get your moneys worth here. Thats for sure. Every time I walk out the door i am full to the max. Its a whole lot better store than you would expect. It can be a little hard to find if you you dont know the neighborhood. Thats for sure. I have to use my gps every time. Lol. Every time I go there the parking lot is jam packed full of cars. There's one person that's been working here for a pretty good while, I won't say his name, but i like to give him a surprise visit every once in a while too. His boss and coworkers get a kick out of it when I go there unexpectedly. They all know me. Lol. From the looks on his face, the words he mumbles, and his reactions when he sees me. He ignores me. And tries to act like hes not associated to me. But before I leave he'll have came and sat down with me for a little bit. Its on my 10 favorite places to eat at list in...
