Sonic Drive-In — Restaurant in Sherwood

I am always glad to see the Sonic logo in the sky, and the distinctive layout of this fast food emporium! Started when food was delivered by swiftly moving servers called "carhops" on roller skates, it was a fun experience to sit inside the car and watch them smoothly glide by with a tray of food for a car! Now most carhops walk the trays to your car, or you can use the ban of picky eaters, and folks in a hurry-- who are inevitably going to be behind the vehicle with the entire soccer team in it trying to order --- the drive thru window! Sonics fill a gap that has been untouched by the big burger places. They offer the most varied food menus of all the fast food places. They also offer the largest amount of drinks - in flavors, consistency, and add-ins that is possible. I also think that they hit on a great idea when they decided to introduce their afternoon Happy Hours- which allows you to purchase your beverage at half the normal price!! Awesome idea! That's about the time my brain needs an ice cold wake-up call, anyway!! Then, they added about 50 ways to blow all the good work you have been doing at the gym-- by rewarding yourself with some of the night time half-priced decadently delicious Ice Cream shakes! These things are not your leaning swirl of quickly melting ice milk on a cone dispensed by Mickey D's. No, no, no! Sonic's dessert inspired shakes are a delight to be enjoyed with focus, deliberation, and lots of "mmmm..". Sonic produces the largest burger, diameter wise, in their basic burgers. These are not tiny, kid sized burgers, but large patties on large buns. They come with all the usual condiments for a good burger, lots of lettuce, tomato slices, onion, and pickles, with either mustard or mayo. Sonic's claim to fame is probably their foot long Chili Cheese Coneys! A definite niche unfilled by the other guys. Get it served up with either those signature, golden brown potato nuggets known as Tater Tots or equally delicious, large, golden, fried onion rings. Also great for a snack are the mozzarella cheese sticks! Yum! If you install their app, you can order to the nearest Sonic, and get your drink at half price, no matter the time. Sonics are pretty consistent at every one that I have stopped by. If you are tired of burgers & a Coke, try their Coney, or chicken tenders dinner served up with Texas toast and a cup of dipping gravy!! So good!! Get a raspberry iced tea to drink with...

There's no drive-thru, only the intercoms, and instead of coming out to see what I had to figure it out when they were clearly lost, they ignored me. I have a coupon for a free medium cherry limeade because the last Sonic messed my order up at another location. I told them I dislike cherries and would pay an upcharge to change it to strawberry or cranberry. The lady said, "hold on" I waited almost 5 minutes, and the screen changed to ask for payment and told me my order was being prepared. I pushed the button again, and the lady did the same thing, so I just said I'd take a cranberry limeade. If they're not going to have a drive-thru, they need to be proactive rather than reactive and take the initiative to take 20 steps to go outside and see what the person is talking about instead of completely ignoring them. Or say, "I'm sorry, I don't understand what you're saying; you may want to go to the original location; they'd be able to help you best." Anything would've been better than ignoring me and charging me for a product I didn't want to make up for a mistake of missing the main food item in my bag, the reason I...

My first visit to this particular Sonic was horrid and I'm not sure the food didn't give us food poisoning!! This is on top of the food being mildly warm and it taking appx 15 minutes​ to bring our burgers out wrong. We sent it back and then got back a burger that had a bite taken from it, which is not what we sent. They obviously got wrong the man's order in the stall next to us and once fixing it they gave it to us not him poor guy.. It wasn't even that busy maybe 4 or 5 cars there.. I dared to go back a few days later and order drinks and French toast sticks, hoping since I'd ordered burgers before they couldn't mess up this order, and it was a total different experience. The carhop was actually very friendly and got every single thing correct! Since I'm not in NLR often I'd say enter at your own risk!! The other Sonic in NLR was spot on every time I went there. I go to Sonic almost daily. I was also shocked at the price difference in the Memphis,TN and Olive Branch, MS area the French toast sticks are $1.79 for 4, in NLR they are $3.19 for 4......
