We went this afternoon (10/26) for brunch around 1145/12. The older women working the cash register was an absolute delight and made our experience great. HOWEVER the rest of the staff was beyond rude. We asked for one of them to wipe the only available table off and she did so begrudgingly. She wiped the table down and went to walk away before we could ask for a dry cloth to wipe the water off. She was visibly irritated. On multiple encounters with another staff female staff member who was working carry out and the kitchen window, she acted like everyone was bothering her by asking her to do her job. Most of the experience is self service, however the coffee pots ran out, there was no silverware, and we wanted to make sure we were taking the right order and each time we were met with an attitude and disrespect.
I watched her snatch a coffee pot out of a woman's hands when she asked for the coffee pot to be refilled. Our two interactions, my dad asked if the three drinks on the counter were ours just incase so we didn't touch the wrong order (it was our first time and not sure how it worked). She responded, "I don't know" in a nasty tone and walked away. The second interaction I needed knives for the table and the holder was all out. I stood there for a minute trying to be polite and not one staff member paid me any attention. Finally, I said excuse to the same women working the take out line and asked could I please have two to go silverware or could they bring out more knives. She borderline rolled her eyes and said nothing as she turned her back grabbed two and instead of placing them in my hand which was extended, she threw them on the counter and walked away without a word.
This type of behavior has no place in a customer service role. If you have an attitude toward people for simply asking you to do your job, you have no place in a forward facing role. We will not be going back because the service experience ruined the rest of the experience for us.
I wish I got her name, but I could not identify a manger. She was African American, on the younger side, wore glasses, and had dreadlocks with a bunch of beads all in them. She needs some serious retraining in customer service and over all the staff could pay more attention to all of the self service aspects of the restaurant if they don't want people asking them for help or to...
Read moreMy experience at Maple Street Biscuit Company left much to be desired. Upon arrival, every empty table was visibly dirty, setting a poor first impression. Although someone came to wipe the table, it was done with just a napkin, and I didnât even realize they were an employee since there were no distinctive uniforms or name tags.
The menu lacked variety, especially for those with dietary restrictions or picky kids, making it hard to customize orders. Despite the limited options, the wait time for food was extremely long. Once our food was ready, we had to carry around 8 plates to the table ourselves, requiring multiple trips.
As for the food itself, it was hit-or-miss. The biscuits and gravy were the highlightâabsolutely superb. However, the kidsâ chocolate chip waffle was disappointing, as it was only half a waffle with a mere 3-4 mini chocolate chips. They were out of strawberries, and the waffle came without powdered sugar, whipped cream, or even syrup. The absence of a fruit cup, which is a standard breakfast side, was also surprising. To top it off, one item from our order was missed entirely, forcing us to wait an additional 5 minutes.
Hoping to give them another chance, I ordered a biscuit sandwich to go after being unimpressed with my hash bowl. Unfortunately, we waited another 20 minutes for that. Throughout our visit, the dirty dish area was overflowing, which added to the overall sense of disorganization.
While the biscuits were undeniably delicious, the overall experience was disappointing. The lack of cleanliness, subpar menu options, long wait times, and poor kid-friendly offerings make this a place I would not return toâespecially with children.
Final verdict: Not recommended. The biscuits may shine, but the overall dining...
Read moreI was looking forward to trying this place as it is very close to my home. I wanted this to turn into my go to spot. It is tough to evaluate the food when you are required to go back to the store to pick up items left off the order. I arrived at the specified time and had a short wait but that really wasn't a problem. After receiving my order and looking in the bag, 3 items ordered, three containers. Got home and realized that my Retro biscuit with a side of smashbrowns were not in the bag. I went back and told them what I was missing. After about five minutes I was given my missing items, so I thought. I should have checked before leaving but didn't. Turned out they didn't give me the smashbrowns and instead of scrambled eggs on the biscuit I got fried. That is no big deal as I like fried also but just irritating when you don't get what you ordered. I also ordered biscuits with sausage gravy and a side of maple bacon. The bacon was really good. As for the biscuits and gravy, there were two biscuits but only enough gravy for one. The taste was good but of course it had to be reheated because of having to return to the store to get the rest of my food. Can't rate the smashbrowns since I never got them, I wasn't going back a third time. Maybe my experience was just a once in a hundred situation but to say the least, I was very disappointed. Maybe I'll continue to search for...
