We finally made it to this Richmond staple. Everyone working was extremely friendly and let us try several samples.
I appreciated the variety of flavors. Here’s my take on what my family sampled:
Cookie dough - large chunks of cookie dough, loved it. Birthday Cake- really tastes like cake batter. Loved it. Rainbow Cookie - if you like the Ukrops rainbow cookie, you have to try this ice cream. Cinnamon snack - I like cinnamon, but I found the cinnamon overpowering. My little one enjoyed it though. Peppermint bark- if you love peppermint, get this, but I found the flavor to be a bit too strong as well (and this is made with vanilla, not peppermint, ice cream)! There’s another peppermint option that’s made with peppermint ice cream, and apparently it has an even stronger peppermint flavor. Just Ask - apparently this is their most popular flavor. Can’t go wrong with Oreo and peanut butter, but I didn’t think it was a standout. Blanchard’s Dark as Dark - not too sweet, rich coffee flavor.
Another plus: They use metal spoons they wash instead of plastic spoons...
Read moreAfter a fun time at Laser Tag we continued the celebration at Gelati for my daughters 11th birthday and 12 of her friends with ice cream cake! Why 2 stars? The manager was not nice. The cutting knife I brought with me was not strong enough. So I asked could I borrow a cutting utensil and he said no, then I asked, what if I handed the cake back to you to cut and he said no and continued to say, once the cake is paid for and handed to me, we cant slice it. Here's the"really dude" he said 'if I had asked before paying" the answer would be yes. After we sung HBD, and nice guest joined in the song!, the kids had to wait 5mins per slice "since my utensil was not strong! Luckily the cake started to melt and the last few kids got it faster, but it was melted ice cream cake. The good news, my daughter and her friends had a blast, the Ice Cream Cake was delicious! However the SERVICE WAS POOR. We will...
Read moreI visited this ice cream place on a whim and I wanted to find an ice cream place that was cheaper than Cold Stone Creamery. Also, I wanted to find a place that was locally owned. I was pleased to find just that at Gelati Celesti. I ordered a large cup that came with four scoops of my choice. I got 2 scoops of Chocolate decadence and 2 scoops of Chesterfield honey bear tracks. For my toppings, I got hot fudge, whipped cream, and a cherry. The total came to $11.29 which is cheap in comparison to brand-name ice cream places that charge you extra for toppings. I gave a $5 tip for service and the fact that the place was well maintained and there were plenty of areas where people can sit (inside or outside as they wished). The ice cream was really good, I may visit again...
