This whole experience was a little weird. We came for lunch so I cannot speak for how dinner goes. When we came in there was one other couple there. At first I thought maybe they closed at three because they were dirty tables (which were still dirty after we were there for an hour) and no one else was there. So, we were sat and we ordered food. The food took a very long time to come out, even though there were no other tables sat. We got our food and it was very good. It is very nice to have gluten-free options here. While we were waiting, our server fell asleep and was just sitting in the corner snoring for about 10 minutes. We finished up and got boxes. She came one more time to run the check and then sat back down at her desk. When we were leaving, there wasn’t a thank you or goodbye or anything. Literally zero acknowledgement The service was just very odd and not welcoming at all. Another employee was walking around while the other one was sleeping and snoring and didn’t say anything. I’m all about if you are sleepy and working lots of jobs are going to school, that you need rest because I have been there myself, but in front of customers? I thought that was a little unprofessional. Again, I cannot speak for dinner. Maybe it is very different. The food was good so I would recommend it, but I think that the service could use a little more warm and welcoming atmosphere. Maybe a little more attentiveness. Also, we got a curry entrée and a mixed vegetable entrée, and there were about three slices of peppers in the meal. Very limited number of vegetables and a small amount of chicken in the other entrée. Entree sizes were good, but it was primarily just the noodles. Our server never suggested or asked if we wanted dessert or appetizers. Didn’t tell about lunch specials. Didn’t ask if we want anything else to drink. The kid’s waters were empty and she never even asked if we wanted more. Really poor service and it didn’t seem like she cared at all if we were there or not. I have worked in the restaurant industry while going to school and working multiple jobs so I do understand being tired, but I just don’t think it’s appropriate to sleep in front of your customers and snore while they’re waiting 20 mins for their food. Please do better and reflect better for yourself. It...
Read moreI came to visit because I see high appraise for this restaurant. I expect authenticated Thai food. However, the experience is not as I expected. The location is great, in the West Village with a public grave on the side. Decoration is clear and there is also a bar.
Everything goes one very well and looks like a wonderful Thai dinner is waiting for me. However, thing starts to change. First of all, we waited like 20 minutes or so from we gave the order to have the first appetizer ready. We think it’s all right, since good food always worth waiting. However, the Tom Yum soup is just normal.
All right, at least we have our appetizer. Another 7-10 minutes waiting, then it comes. They look well, though the amount is quite limited compared to its price. What is more surprising is that all the rice sticked together, you can hardly tell if it is rice or paste. Come on, this is fried rice. We have never being severed fried rice like this in any other Thai restaurant. I then realized, it is highly possible that too much water is added. But, if there are too much water and the rice is a failure, why continue to use it to make a even more failure fried rice? Furthermore, the fragments of mussels are mixed in these stick rice, and I keep on picking them out in case get my esophagus injuries.
All right, at least we can count on the fried ice cream. No, we are wrong. The outside of it is anything but crispy. Very hard to tear apart. I might come at a wrong time, but that...
Read morePrevious review was done two years ago. I am changing my review to a five stars. Had lunch here with a friend in July. We both agreed that the food was delicious. The ambiance was trendy. I had Pork Kapow Thai hot, the dish was very tasty with just right amount of heat. It was midweek and after lunch hours, all tables were filled. I have to praise our waitress, she was the only wait staff. As busy as she was, she was very calm, still very attentive and didn’t make any mistakes. The only downside was we waited for a long time our food, but it was worth it. This is my favorite Thai restaurant in Short Pump area.
Stopped by for a take out order. The waiter was very knowledgeable and gave me his recommendations. The Crispy Duck was $16 but portion was small. No bones and fat, but didn’t have enough flavor. I still prefer the Crispy Duck from Pad Thai in Mechanicsville. The clear noodle dish (粉丝) with prawns was really good. Overall, food was decent, but kind of expensive. I probably would enjoyed more and gave a five star if we ate at...
