The only positive thing I can think to say about this place is that the room was spacious. Other than that, it was terrible in every way. The room itself smelled terrible, and when we walked in the first thing we saw was a box hanging off a wall with exposed wires coming out of it. We immediately asked if we could be moved to another room but we were told it was fully booked so we had to stay in that room. We were also told that the exposed wires were because they were working on the hotel's phones. None of the phones in the hotel were working. There were no towels in the bathroom - none! There were also no linens or pillows for the pull-out couch that our kids were going to sleep on. When we asked for towels, linens, and pillows we were given a couple of wash cloths and were told they would bring towels later (they never did). They did have linens but no pillows, so we shared our pillows with the kids. There were no remotes for either tv, so they had to be turned on manually and you had to get up and physically change the channels each time. There were ants in the room and stains all over the carpet, some of which looked like blood. It was hard to sleep that night between the noise of the highway and the bed that made loud squeaky noises with every tiny movement. The refrigerator was barely cold and we had to throw away the food we had put in it. To top everything off, when my husband tried to use a washcloth to clean up in the bathroom sink (since we never got any towels and couldn't shower), the washcloth disintegrated into pieces as he used it. This was by far the worst hotel I've ever stayed in. I recommend staying far away. The room was not only horrible but the staff was rude and ignored us at the front desk. If we could have gotten our money back we would have left and found somewhere else to stay. We're just grateful it was only...
Read moreI couldn't recommend this facility more. It was truly a home away from home while I was off doing a tremendous amount of work away from my family.
So much of this experience, I would attribute to the superior and excellent staff. Start with Jason the manager, he is an excellent leader and a kind man who treats each guest it seems with the highest level of respect. When I would have the smallest of problems it would be treated as if I was the most important person at the facility and any issue would be handled quickly and beyond satisfaction.
Martha the sales manager, was always there with a warm smile and suggestions about the best places to visit in the Richmond area, and also wonderful restaurants. One time at the end of her shift, I was stuck and wasn't sure I was going to make my flight home out of Richmond because my car service was delayed, and she gave me a ride to the airport! Talk about service.
Nicole at the front desk in the morning was always there with a warm smile and help with anything that I needed. She did a great job, and always made me feel like I was right at home.
Christina. It was like having a sister who's working where you live. She just was the nicest woman, and She was so interested in what was going on with an easy smile and a warm hug for you at the end of a long day away from your family. She was just such a nice person, everybody there was just so nice. Be sure to ask stop at the desk and chat with Christina. : )
Rooms are great, and they were immensely flexible and let me check in and out and come and go when I left to see my family.
The rooms were well cared for, always clean and fresh.
I give the facility a five star review, and look forward to returning next time I'm in Richmond.
Thank...
Read moreRoom was musty and we had hot water issues. We notified the front desk when were first got there about the musty odor in the room and they told us they were booked and could not change our room. Then we went to take showers to discover there was not hot water but water did get warmer by second shower. Went to front desk to talk with them and was told maintenence was gone for the day and that they would leave a message for manager for the next day. I told them we would be gone early morning and not returning till around 4 or 5 pm. Since there was no communication from the hotel I inquired at front desk when we returned around 5pm. I was told they were unaware of any issues and that everyone was gone for the weekend. So at that moment we felt as if no one cared about the issues and that this was probably something they were aware of before our stay. Shower water was better but we had no hot water in kitchen entire stay and only luc warm water in bathroom sink. Due to activities in the area other hotels were sold out and we could not move. Then we discovered when we grabbed the extra blanket from the closet to put on the bed that it had bleach stains all over it and smelled musty. I wish I had taken a picture to post. Why would they put something like that in a room. Hotels can be old but still very clean- this was not the case. Floor had debris in corners and the entire hallway all the thresholds looked as if they were never vacuumed. There were cigarette butts throughout parking lot. It cost us a lot of money for a one bedroom suite and it was not worth half the amount given the issues. We really suggest you keep looking for...
