Great little Sushi place in Short Pump. Nestled in the scenic little townhouse area near Whole Foods, you can find parking on the main drag or in the parking decks. Pretty open concept with a number of tables and chairs at the Sushi Bar. The decor is fairly light, but with a true Japanese vipe. In the background they did have some K-pop bands playing. One of the TVs kind of synced up with the music playing videos and then there was a second TV that had underwater footage of turtles, seahorses pretty cool sea life on the screen. My daughter and I sat at the sushi bar which we like to do. Once we sat down the waitress was very attentive brought us water is very quickly some table mats and tidied up our spots for us. They were having some difficulties bringing up the menu on the phone so she proceeded to let us know that she just brought us a regular menu. They had a lunch menu with some decent items seems like they also have a lot of poke bowls as well. We ordered two handwrapped pieces in order of spicy tuna and Ungai pop roll. For an appetizer we got an order of edamame. I've eaten at a lot of sushi restaurants and I've never seen a female sushi chef before, not saying they're not out there I just don't think they're very common and she seemed to be the head chef. She ended up talking to us quite a bit telling us about her daughter and son. It seemed like she ran a pretty tight ship, but she was super Pleasant, nice and even with all the Chit Chat made us some delicious sushi. Presentation is definitely a priority here. The hand rolls looked like a piece of art. The tempora shrimp was probably the best I've ever had. Lightly battered cooked to perfection, honestly, fantastic. We were very happy with everything. Preparation didn't take very long just enough time for us to eat most of our edamame before our Sushi was ready. I would definitely come back and highly recommend you check...

We arrived on a Friday in July around 6:30 PM. Parking is scarce right in front of the restaurant but we easily found a spot about a block away. Also, it is very near Whole Foods that has a huge parking lot. The small restaurant was about half full with all the sushi bar seats taken. They are kind of fancy seats too! We were immediately greeted and asked to pick a table. We have been snake bit trying to find a decent sushi place in Richmond or Charlottesville. After reading the great reviews on Arilang, we decided to give it a go. There appears to be only one person taking orders and delivering drinks so service was a bit slow and haphazard. There were other people that helped deliver food. We had dirty plates that were still on the table when we left (pet peeve of mine). We ordered a bottle of wine, and the fried oyster appetizer. We waited a while for both. In fact, the oysters came after they delivered our main meal. However, they were quite good with a light panko crust. I decided on the Love in Tuna Poke bowl, and my spouse got the Shrimp Tempura Roll and Creamy Eel Special. The seafood in everything was very fresh. The Poke bowl had several slices of delectable tuna surrounded by mango, avocado, celery, cucumber and seaweed salad on top of greens. It was so delicious! Both of the rolls were equally as tasty. They had just the right amount of rice and stuffing, and they were large rolls. This is definitely going on the “we’ll...

I never leave ratings but I legitimately cannot believe the reviews here, I have had sushi all over the world and lived in Japan for 3 months but this has got to be hands down one of the WORST meals I have ever had in my life.

Absolutely terrible food, from something as simple as miso to the rolls themselves. Shocking quality all around, fish that doesn't even taste like fish... I am honestly surprised that me and my friend did not get food poisoning given how nasty the flavor of everything was.

The cherry on top is that they added a tip that I never gave, I have proof of what I paid because I took a photo of the receipt and have already disputed the extra charge. What kind of business does something like that???

Stay away from this place, nasty food and scammy people that will try to overcharge you. I would not be surprised if most of these reviews are fake/paid, there is no way people actually think this place serves good food, has to be a part of their scam.

EDIT: I received a refund from my credit card company but trust me when I tell you this was no mistake. Person who took care of my bill was acting maliciously and it was 100% intentional. Do not give these people your money because they do not deserve it! They are in the scam business not the...

A lovely experience at this brand new sushi restaurant in the West End! The rolls are fresh and delicious and the costumer service cannot be beat! The owners are incredibly friendly and the servers are very attentive. Plus, they genuinely seem to enjoy working together. While we were here, one of the ladies performed a karaoke song (she sounded great!) It's a very fun and lively atmosphere, with kpop playing in the background and bright lights, which sets it apart from the atmosphere of most other sushi restaurants. It's small and intimate, almost cozy, with a cute waiting area. It just has a mom and pop shop vibe, but Japanese. Probably not the best for large groups, but there was a family in while I was getting dinner (if your kids like sushi). The tea was great, and the miso soup toasted truly homemade and rich with flavor. My friend and I got dinner here on a Saturday night. We didn't have a wait, but it was reasonably full and we still got great service. Just a great experience and we definitely plan to be back!

I stopped buy this sushi place on the 1st of June of this year. Sorry for the late post. It was the only sushi area in the area for where I was heading. I had the homestyle spicy miso, California roll, eel boba roll, double rainbow roll and the gyoza. My total for this order was $50 before tip. The service was okay, the location was just okay and the interior of the restaurant was a little dated. Everything was freshly made and tasted great. All in all, it was an average sushi experience since they didn't have anything unique on the menu that I have not tried before. All in all, it was a good place and if you like sushi I would probably go here on the regular. My rating system consists of a 3-star being exactly what I expected and neither good nor bad. A 4 means something was extra special whether it was service, food, staff, etc., and a 5 means I was blown away. A 2 star rating was disappointing with no offer to correct the experience and a 1-star rating was terrible
